Sorry for taking awhile to get back to people, but unfortunately, due to some complications with contacting the venue and some misleading information, the tournament will be next friday, the 24th. The room has been booked, and now I’m just double checking and finalizing details before I post any extra information. (Which does give me more time to get the word out.) Sorry for the inconvenience.
Damn, that might mean I can’t come… We’ll see though. What room is it, out of curiosity. And how are you going to handle entry fees and such now that there isn’t a ludicrous cost on the venue?
Agriculture Building, Room 6D48 will be the main room, with a few extras if we need it (Big thanks to Papa-Reans for getting the space.). And the venue is 100% free! So tournament fees will remain the same, minus the ten dollars going to the venue. Pay your ten, and I’ll sign you up for whatever tourney you want to enter. Also, final game roster is looking like:
SSF4: AEv2012
SSBM
UMvC3
While other games that will probably be there, but won’t be used as a main tournament unless lots arrive:
SSBB
Injustice
SFxT
And if someone wants to bring along some other popular game, (maybe the anime heads?) go right ahead.
Full post will come out in a day or two, as this will probably be a permanent (?) venue at least until my project is finished.

Hey, I posted the tourney up on Reddit. /r/saskatoon or whatever, so if you have time, go thumbs it up or tell your friends to check it out! As far as I’m concerned, it’s the highest post up there, and I’d like to keep it that way.
And, I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can make it down to the next few!
But if you come into this thread and be critical of a lot of things I’m going to approach you in the same way.
If you would approach me in a respectful manner, I would likely return the favor. But if you’re going to continue to carry a critical tone towards the sask scene in general when I’ve been working hard to get one established up here in Regina (with a good name, I might add. Players in Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton can co-sign us.)
I’ve invited people to stay in my house to get better numbers for the events, as well as put my own money up.
So when you come at me, and I ascertain a sense of negativity, of course I’m going to react the way I do.
When you post the way you have in regards to Ricardo, and attempt to make me look bad because I don’t share an opinion on somebody. (Somebody I’ve met in real life multiple times and can co-sign that he has never done anything out of line in person once.) As well as someone who has went out of their way to support the events I put on for the people that post in this thread. (He couldn’t make it for the main tournament, but the dude got his girlfriend to drive two and a half hours for after hours which was hosted at my house. While at my house, Evan and Ric commendably behaved respectfully towards one another. They had enough respect for me and the other players in attendance to put their personal differences aside for the best interest of the tournament/community.
Now, I may be coming off with a ridiculous sense of entitlement here, but do you not think I deserve to have my opinion heard without being treated disrespectfully amongst the community? Have I not earned that right by giving up my money, my house, and my time for the community? I always try to approach anything I do in regards to the fighting game in Saskatchewan with respect, and have always consulted all parties prior to any events I host.
Or would you rather deal with some shit-tier tournament promoter who doesn’t give a shit what you think, and ends up robbing the community of the experiences they deserve at a tournament? I’m of the opinion that our numbers increasing is more important then some personal beefs that occur along the way.
If I came off as rude towards you on a personal level I apologize. I did not mean to come off that way; but I fealt threatened, and when humans feel threatened typically they will respond in a defensive way.
Your response comes down to ‘You were disrespectful to me and so I was to you’, but that doesn’t actually follow consistently with what actually happened in this thread, that anyone is welcome to go back and read. You can go ahead and quote where I was disrespectful to you in the first place, which you allege, but I don’t think you’ll have a very easy time. Pretty sure what happened was I said “boo-urzy” and you flew off at me like I’d just threatened your mum.
Nice novel there, but all it really does is affirm for me that you (and others here) have some serious social issues, and take this waaaay too seriously. Nah I think I’ll stick with my crowd of friendlier, more normal, less insane, and frankly better based on the footage I’ve seen, casual gamers.
I REAAAALLY can’t stress how little I care about this. The only reason I replied was utter disbelief that you’d dredge this up after a month. You have my sincere pity.
Hadn’t realized this until now, but it may be difficult to find the room. If you go to 51 Campus Drive, and through the front entrance of the Agriculture building, then turn right and follow it until you find the elevators. From there, turn right, and right again, and follow a rather long hallway to the conference room. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Here comes the third one, Beatdown in ToonTown #3!
