I get off early tomorrow, can anyone host?
Sweet, sent you a friend request. Keep me posted on Fight Nights! I’m itching to try out Vega’s new stuff.
Again, I’m off early today. Can anyone host casuals tonight?
is there any mom and pop game stores in Santa cruz?
We have a game store downtown and a game store in Scotts Valley but they’re pretty much exclusively tabletop games last I checked. Although its probably worth a shot. I was thinking about setting something up with Cabrillo College but that would have to go through the proper channels. It’d probably be a bit easier than UCSC though. How did the thing in Salinas go, Geoff?
hmmmmmm what’s the place called? i’m gonna call to see if they somehow get SSFIV early, if they do i’ll be willing to travel to get a early copy,
the session went well, had quite a number of people come out around 13-16 people last week, so far the coffee shop likes to see how were generating business for them and is thinking of letting us use their venue for any tournaments that Stan would be hosting,
Fuck man I wish we had cafe owners that chill out here, maybe we do I just need to look a bit deeper. On another note, is Play n Trade out of business in the Bay Area? I havent seen one in a while.
Oh yeah, the Super IV ranbats I’ve been working on are going to be happening shortly after Super IV’s release. And I really hope the Salinas regulars are able to come out to these. The goal is to increase the quality of the competition in the 831 at ALL levels. I mean lets be honest we don’t have a ton of amazing players in the county, and the only way we’re going to improve significantly is to play eachother a lot and critique eachother. Get that big push to improve. The ranbats are probably going to be every 3 weeks extending through summer. Ideally I’d like to hold these at the BW if they’re smart enough to upgrade to super IV but we’ll see.
we got lucky in this cafe owner, people say he competed in quake 3 tournies and originally wanted to make a PC game lounge but then ideally turned into a coffee shop with a few PC ready game lounge,
yea man expect to see Salinas out there when that happens, keep us updated!
There was a Play n Trade in San Mateo last time I checked (during the summer). And there’s a game store downtown? I don’t even know about this
When he says ‘game store’ I suspect he means Game-a-lot, which is tabletop RPGs and such. It’s next door to Comicopolis and Bookshop Santa Cruz (back side).
is anyone on this board knowledgable within the areas of stick building and modifications? what i’m really trying to ask, is if there is someone who could help me install a mc chuthulu and imp board being that i want to use different consoles on my madcatz te stick with just one wire coming out of my stick. u know the ones where u have to build the cables and then just put whichever one u want to play on with the ethernet or usb cable. if someone could help me out with that, it would be very appreciated. I’ll even treat you to lunch! Thx alot. Peace!
Stan in Salinas would be able to help you,
btw rollicks session today in Salinas starting at 5pm for those who are interested
A)tri weeklys are too far apart
Either weekly or biweekly
You need to put a lot of work into getting better and xbl is not work try to get in as much crack as you can if not practice bnbs daily
Until there’s a consistency
Note I said bnbs not flashy combos
$1 sf4 is good for you guys
A lot more is at stake
You’ll fight a lot harder than if it was console

Hello, I’m kinda new to this site. Might be a dumb question but if I wanted to find people in Santa Cruz who played Fightin games, how would I go about doing that? o_O
go knock on gasp’s door. he’s always welcoming to new players. also add him to your aim buddy list.
if you are a girl
yes do so
Gasp… you just blew my mind, I don’t even want to ask why there would be a crack session at a motel 6…
Gasp:
I would like to do weeklys but I don’t have the time until the semester is over, unless TrapperJon or Rasputin3K wants to help me out with these. Maybe bi-weekly.
As for playing to get better, yeah. I quickly realized that online is trash, I try to go to golfland as much as possible. Still looking to do more weekly local casuals though. The main thing working against me still is matchups. I score wins on better players by being random, but that’s all my results are ever going to be until I fight someone who plays with the specific characters I have trouble with on a regular basis. Anyway enough ranting, I’m late for lab.
svgl on saturday…whos down?
