You’re hosting so itsall up to you, but a couple suggestions from my end.
Maybe it can be on a weekday at a late time? This way people that have to go home for that weekend can show up.
And just incase you can’t get it at oaks, have you considered the Merrill community room/cultural center(whatever it’s called). I havnt been there in a long long time so I don’t know if they did anything to it, but thelast time I was there was for the smash tournament 2 years ago. The place was big enough to handle a pretty large turnout if I remembered correctly. And the room also had a large projector screen that they set up for the big matches (don’t know if they brought the projector themselves or they borrowed it from the school, but then who has a projector sitting around in their room anyway).
Just a couple suggestions.

Weekday or Weekend?
I’m sure it’s doable, and it is short notice.
I think it’s best if we give at least 3 weeks notice to everyone.
I’m thinking the 15th would also work… but if everyone is down for that,
I can make something happen.
A weekday? I think it’s possible, but I tried to keep an open mind about people who work on weekdays and rest on weekends.
Though, I am open to suggestions.
If people believe that it’ll be better on a weekday, then let their voices be heard.

News on tourney?
I don’t think the tourney is going to happen this quarter, perhaps once Winter quarter begins, we can set it up. My friend has been lagging on getting back to me, perhaps because it’s too much work for since he’s an RA at one of the colleges.
