Pretty sad to hear about the Metreon. Though the cabs were kinda old, it was nice to have an arcade in a central SF location near public transit. I’m sure the new Target might be a factor though:
It’s not gone. I asked them about it and they told me that their xbox that was running the cabinet red-ringed so they’re trying to get it fixed or something.
Tilt is definitely closed. Stopped by there after work and the whole place is closed down & roped off with a “Tilt is closed for business” sign right in front of the entrance.
I doubt they will relocate to another part of the Metreon, but you never know.
the ssf4 setup was stupid anyways. noone was really on it and when there was, there would be two players on it and they wouldnt give up the controller when they lost saying “but my time isnt up yet!”
Bummer about Tilt, I’ve passed by a couple of times, but never really went in.
Anyway, does anybody if there’s a place or somebody that mods sticks in the bay area? I have a Round 1 360 TE that I’m looking to get dual modded for ps3/ps2 as well. Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah. referring to dude making green bars. Definitely come out to SFSU rack and cue arcade downstairs in the Cesar Chavez Student Center. Some talented cats down there on SF4 man. As for me, I’m always down for 360 ssf4 casuals and I’m in the arcade often
Hey guys I better chime in since I arrive on the 11th day after my birthday and sadly the day after the MvC3 release party.
3 Green Bars series 1 was focusing on ssf4 mainly and what ever other games were part of the scene and history of each area. I’m sure MvC3 will steal the limelight this series. Especially since I was just in San Jose Costa Rica covering their scene. And those guys are so hype everyone has pre ordered their copy from the capcom store een with Costa Rica’s crazy 55% import tax!
But yeah, if anyone that has regular ranbats/casuals/tournaments going and is doing something for the evening or evening after release it would be awesome to get some games in and discuss how your scene was built and interview it’s players. So far I have some interviews I’m setting up but do want to cover the central scene even if it is underground.
Looking forward to meeting some of you guys. Feel free to browse my YouTube channel if you want to get a better idea of how I do things
Definitely hit up RnC the day you come in if you can. That’s where the action is. Try to make it from like 11am-5pm for players. Sunday our weekly casuals, that’s also at SFSU, will be going down. Pm Worf Jostar if you want info about that.
I don’t get in to 6pm so I’ll probably come by Sunday if I can. What time does it usually go down? I’ll pm Worf and see what’s up. Might be easier to meet him at a bus stop or something so I don’t get lost lol Hoping Jostar is a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure reference
If you can find your way to a Muni station you can jump on a outbound “M” train and it will eventually drop you off right in front of SFSU. Follow the path down to the student center and go all the way to the bottom. Hope that helps!
