(crushing4fame): ill just bring my ps stick anyways just in case if i make it tonight.
I will be bringing my ps3.
Thanks for hosting last night red fleet, good games and learning experience on my end for sure. Nice to meet all you guys finally. Hope we can do it again soon.
…killa bee’s
Good games to all who showed up to Red Fleet’s session. That was my first time playing an offline Seth  I learned alot! Gotta keep this going!
…oh and killa bees
What up guys? Anyone down to play tonight?
Wow i had no idea you guys were playing on Friday nights. Hardly check this thread anymore bc i thought Red Fleet usually schedules for Sundays (which I can’t make since i have to drive to work early on mondays). I’ll def head out if its either Friday or Saturday. Really would need to level up, plus the online lag is getting really annoying after a full day of play. I have a ps3 stick so if anyone has ps3 then i’d be down to get some games down. I can’t host though.
Good games last night for sure. I’ll be getting a monitor for my pc soon, so hopefully I’ll have 2 setups in house for next time.
fuck yea!
fuck yea!
get that asus mane!!! Gotta roll hard lyke thrust be doin!
I have a ps3. But forreal East South and North Bay has a scene. The peninsula has nothing going for it. Except them Serramonte tourneys. HA.
if you can make it out to Berkley, Join the rest of us @ Eudemonia.
What:
A weekly SUPER STREET FIGHTER meet for friendly games.
Players of all skill levels, sexes, races, religions, sexual orientations, pad or stick preferences, etc. welcomed…
Uh… if you don’t have anything better to do, hang out and play Super with us (or me).
UPDATED on 7-20-10:
We intend to be doing Blazblue: Continuum Shift in addition to Street Fighter during the game’s release… people needn’t worry about the DLC content since I will be getting all of it (the characters, anyway) and dragging my X-Box hard drive with me.
(which, I guess, means that we can potentially do Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 as well since I have that game on the hard drive.
Where:
At Eudemonia in Berkeley.
It’s near the BART STATION in downtown Berkeley, so I don’t think it’ll be hard for people to make it…
Here’s the actual address:
2154 University Avenue, Berkeley, CA
Here’s a map with detailed directions:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...reviews/eu.jpg
Essentially, you walk from the BART station until you see a McDonalds, turn right at the Mickey D’s and then EU should be on your right-hand side…
For google maps link and info:
When:
Every Saturday from 3-10PM
But, that’s not to say that we can’t do it on Sunday as well… I just might not be able to make it; if it’s Saturday, then it’s for sure for me…
Also, I’ll show up even if no one goes (as a means to encourage people to know that there will be someone who is always there anyway… I can always just hit training mode if no one shows up, really).
THAT SAID, feel free to show up earlier (much earlier) or stay later (much later)…
It’s flexible, but I will personally be around during the stated time.
How:
EU is one of those internet cafe places where you have to pay to use stuff… so…
Yeah, playing here will not be free…
There are 4 consoles in the shop in total, 3 of which have online capability.
SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BE BROUGHT:
If you have a copy of SUPER, please be sure to bring it; I will be bringing my own copy, but that is only good for ONE console.
That said, bringing your own pads or sticks is also recommended; they have controllers and a broken TE stick to rent out at the place (for somewhere around $2 an hour), but you will have to give collateral (such as a California state ID) in order to rent these items.
I will be bringing my SUPER TE stick and will be willing to share, but it’s only 1 stick, so we’ll be short in the event 2 people prefer using sticks…
So, if you can bring items, then by all means do so as it will help…
UPDATED on 7-24-10
PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING HARD DRIVES AND WHATEVER ELSE PEOPLE MIGHT THINK WE MIGHT NEED; we surprisingly ran out of copies of SUPER this week, so to allay future mishaps, people should drag their own games and whatever with them.
I actually now possess 2 MADCATZ TOURNAMENT EDITION STICKS and one SE Madcatz stick… so… if people don’t have X-Boxes, no need to worry about sticks since I feel like I have enough to accommodate non-X-box people… that being said, the TE sticks are fist-come, first-serve with regards to which game the sticks will be on (meaning that 1 of them is already on hold for SUPER STREET FIGHTER, leaving only 1 TE and 1 SE for BLAZBLUE… meaning that BLAZBLUE players will likely have to bring at least 1 TE with them if they don’t wanna use the kinda lame SE stick).
I’ll maybe consider getting another stick in the future, but I’m not sure yet (as I want to use that money on other things… like movies).
CURRENTLY, the sorted out scheme for people who have to pay is this:
So, there’s various deals:
-12$ gets you 4 hours
-20$ gets you 8 hours
-16$ gets you a day pass, which means you can just sit an an X-box or computer until the place closes
The place, as I’m pretty sure NeoVid explained earlier, uses a login system in which, for as long as you are logged in, your pre-paid hours will drain…
So, what happens is that if you get the $20 deal, you use 4 hours this week… then you can come back next week or several weeks later and use your remaining 4 hours.
That’s pretty much it.
And here’s the MINIMUM with regards to how many people should be paying:
The thing I kinda want to happen is this:
-4-5 people to an X-Box
-at least 2 people logged in per X-Box
-1 X-Box handles Street Fighter, 1 X-Box handles Blazblue
Naturally, not everyone has to pay (we’ve been getting away with it a lot over the last few weeks), but SOMEONE needs to pay (and, like stated earlier, preferably 2 people per X-Box); I want this mainly because I don’t want EUdemonia to kick us out in the long run if the realize that this isn’t making money.
(it’s actually a little hazy right now; we haven’t gotten into trouble yet, so I want to allay any future confrontation with the shop by establishing that this is actually making some money… so my estimation of what’s fair is 2 people logged into an X-Box, but this might change in the future if it gets too crowded and not enough people are paying)
I don’t mind paying for my setup (I’m pretty much just getting the daily passes from now on, which runs me $16 a week), but I would appreciate people’s help in running other setups…
People can either take turns paying, or do a pool in order to minimize costs, which, really, aren’t all that bad.
If people are to do payment pools, the best approach to this is EARLY CHECK IN during the week in order to establish WHO is going to go and HOW MUCH each person will pay… an example of money pooling looks like this:
Anyway, yeah… I dunno… 1 month runs me around $64, which I’m fine with since it’s like getting a game each month (as goodwill to people coming in, I do not require them to share payments for my account… I’m essentially paying for my own thing)… as for other people, like I said, they could POOL money together to put hours into 2 accounts; if 4 people show up, they just have to log 2 accounts in to get one BLAZBLUE setup going, so if they just show up 1 week and for 4 hours, that’s $24/$4… which is like $6 per person; that’s not terrible, especially considering the convenience of space (I can kinda see why some people would be apprehensive to having people in their houses/homes; think of this as paying for that convenience).
