That whole city and only 1 place has SF4 arcade? No other decent arcades?
bummer
Makes me feel less bad about having no one to play in my tiny town though.

Yeah man it’s kinda crazy, you would think that San Francisco, a major American city, would have at least one well stocked arcade, but alas… They are in the towns around the city, but getting out to those places on a regular basis isn’t as easy as one might think.
Just moved here, kinda sucks to see the scene isn’t very lively but I’m down for any SSFIV action.
EDIT: And I saw that SFIV arcade cabinet at the metreon when I was down here for GDC in march, made me giggle a bit seeing the ridiculous pricing
state university has a decent arcade, but it only has 16 characters you can choose. unfortunately it is a college and will be closed during the summer.
there is also the tilt arcade down in the metreon. it has a custom build arcade powered by an xbox360. the way it works is, inserting one token activates the controller for two minutes. it activates both controllers so two people can play on the same token. however the time will start counting down as soon as you insert the token. this means it will count down when your flipping through the xbox menu, picking your character, AND waiting for the load screen. once the time runs out the controller stops working and the xbox resets itself. it also doesnt care if youre in an intense battle on the 3rd round.
I posted some info in the Metreon thread on how we can try to get Super set up on the current machine. Be sure to contact their corporate office via tilt.com and let them know that there is a demand for the game in the City. I’m sure if enough folks request it, they’ll even consider getting an official machine when its released later this year.
Yeah, but since it’s the metreon it will probably be a $1.50 per game. But good to know will do.
$1.50 will get you 12 minutes on it. but it includes menu navigation, character selection, and loading screen.
that would get you at least three matches.
yea metreon is whack…anyone know if you can use like wired controllers on they’re machine?
anywayz for anyone on xbox live feel free to add me…hopefully we can have a online meet… (yea i know it sounds lame, but shit thats all we got lol)
update
you our best bet on gettin a street fighter machine in a decent enough arcade is Castro Valley Golfland (CVGL). I know it’s kinda out there but it’s accessible through bart, the company has access to most Japanese games ( ie bemani games like DDR, beatmainia, etc…) and they jus might listen to our request more so then tilt. I don’t drive and i used to go all the way out there to play games and it really isn’t that far…
Yall should hit up red fleet the next time he plans on having a session. Im sure its much more better than the metreon and its a easier way to level up
yeah mad props to red fleet for getting stuff started!
Yep, ggs last Sunday.
Any sessions going on Friday?
whos down for some games right now?
I ended up going to MGL. Sorry for the late reply, otherwise I’d definitely be up for it.
Trying to get involved in the Street Fighter Frisco community here as well. Currently in the Inner Richmond. Would like to get into some sessions to see my skills compared to other locals. Sorry, haven’t read through all of the posts as I figured discussions back in April might be outdated. Is there currently a running list of spots where yall meet?
Yeah, that is the perpetual obstacle we have here in San Francisco. There are some people who are gracious enough to host some sessions when they have the time/space. Just keep an eye on the forum for now.
yea…that’s the problem…we don’t have a place to meet up unless someone host somethin’…so till then I guess it’s up to ppl hosting and tilt maybe…
Actually, if you guys want cheap space to play SUPER, there’s always EUDEMONIA over at Berkeley (near the Downtown BART; VERY accessible as it’s really only a 30-minute BART ride from Powell BART or something… and BART runs until like 12:50am, so lots of time to get home):

I’ve been showing up every Saturday and, surprisingly, I’ve been playing a lot of random people… price isn’t bad either: a $20 deal gets you 8 hours (and you can use like 4 hours in one sitting, and then come back the next week and use the remaining 4 hours).
Uh… yeah…
They’ve got like 4 X-Boxes and you can use your own sticks and copies of SUPER…
Uh, I’ll be there this Saturday, in case anyone is interested.
EDIT:
Holy shit, yes… EU price is definitely better than the goddamn Metreon price…
Ohhh thanks for the info! I might be there this weekend. See you there!

Cool. Remember, even if you can’t make it this week, feel free to try again next week; I’m there EVERY week.
That said, people don’t necessarily need to have it on Saturdays; if you guys like the place, feel free to have it… uh… conceivably, every day.
I just go once a week mainly because it’s exhausting playing for like 4 hours straight.
