Congrats to Pikie for taking the BBQ cup. Also, thanks for not completely incapacitating haunts.
Aww yes. All that BBQ I could ever want. In a cup!
Who was haunts playing as? I had to watch the stream and left work at 2, so I didn’t get to see Pikie win. Grats though.

Dude that shit was too dope! Jared you’re a beast man! I’m gonna get my revenge on Thrust, I feel like he knocks me out of every tourney
EDIT:even though pikie actually KO’d me…
Glad to hear you all had a good time
As for a post-carnage report: No noise complaints, girlfriend seems indifferent … I think we’d be good to go for another week! I’m currently trying to figure out how to get the videos I recorded using uStream over to YouTube. It’s supposed to be a one-click process, but I think I’ll just end up doing it manually.
We got a little rivalry going on now, don’t we my friend? It’s funny cuz you’re always the one able to break down the matches and be all knowledgeable. They are never easy games going against you. We definitely need to get some sparring matches going on. Level ^
Jared, thanks for hosting and figuring out how to stream/record those matches. Hope the missus isn’t too perturbed about all the guys making a ruckus til 3 in the morning.
GGs to all, especially Pikie AND Steve, who knocked me out of tourney BY A PIXEL OF HEALTH.
pours the salt out
Ricky where you been at? We need a proper Akuma in our skwad!
dude i feel you, doug and steve made me so salty all night. :annoy:
So, 1-click uploading from uStream to YouTube totally didn’t work Here’s the quality going from a recording of a stream to YouTube. It’s not that pretty.

I’ll go ahead and upload the rest throughout the weekend, and try to come up with a better solution for next week.
Actually, I KNOW what the solution is, but it’d require us to play in standard def, and no one wants that
Sorry I could not make it Jared, I was really busy and had no ride
I wish I was there.
Anyway maybe next time
Doug got a good ass Ryu… PROPS
The quality isn’t horrible, although it gets a bit hard to watch after a while. But were the matches recording onto tape?
whats up man… life’s been super busy the last 3-4 months with work and what not. but as of this coming tuesday, things should be slowing down considerably. ya, since sf4 came out on ps3, i play online somewhat frequently, but its not the same as playing w/ u guys lol… in person is way better than online could ever be
quick question - do u guys play on xbox or ps3, cuz i only have a ps3 fight stick…
and any word regarding details of next week’s rendezvous?
alright peace. have a good weekend
I didn’t wanna be part of your skwad anyways :arazz:
No, I was just using uStreams record feature, so I was constrained to their bitrate. I think that next week, if we just run a single elimination bracket, I could easily just record all of winners and then convert it myself.
So it comes down to what people would prefer: a better stream, or videos. Here are the options I’m looking at.
I pick up a USB capture device and I take direct feed footage. We’d have to play in 480i, but the stream would look a lot nicer and then I could cut between direct feed and my camera, which would make for a more interesting show for the folks watching, of which there were nearly 400 throughout the night. Way more than I anticipated and everyone really enjoyed the combination of match + goofy commentary.
Or, we can run it exactly like last time, only when it comes time to run the tourney, I stick a tape in the camera and record it direct. The quality would be comparable to from Rivals place, which while still slightly blurry, would be a huge step up from last week. I could also just, you know, pull the camera off the TV from time to time.
The stream went over really well and I think most people liked checking the chat room to see the feedback on matches. The first option results in a better show, but the second is more practical and would be better for us. The selfish route is probably the better way to go
