sup guys, i don’t know if you guys read the other sd thread but i was considering running a tournament on friday the 13th at muddclub. marvel and 3s. i wanted to get the 3s communities feedback since most of the other feedbacks i’ve been getting are from marvel players.
keep in mind theres no entrance fee anymore but the games are still 50c
back in sd!!!

i don’t really know the 3s community in san diego, and i can’t even make a guess of how many people are going to show up… but if we get more then eight people then this tournament can roll…

this is what im contemplating. i can actually run three tournaments at once.
3s - singles on the cab
and then…
mvc2 - singles on the cab
mvc2 - 3 man team on dc
if you’re in the singles tournament you have to play on cab and if you’re on the team tournament you must play on dc… this is just to keep it fair
$5 for singles
and
$5 for each person on the team, so thats $15 per team
in order for this to work, i’d have to take $1 from each person to pay for the room so essentially theres going to be a total of $12 in the pot per team
and if this tournament works out as planned, if i run another tournament, i can do the opposite, teams on cab and singles on dc
what do you guys think? are people willing to fork out proally $10 and some change to play in two marvel tournaments?
im thinking tournament signups start at 6pm and start at 7pm on friday the 13th
oh yeah, and for the cabs i can change them to tournament style so we can run the matches faster

I order to keep the tournament fair, MvC2 singles must be played on the cabinet and MvC2 teams will be played on DC.
I will be running all three tournaments at the same time.
I will try to my best to keep the matches as random as I can (picking people out of a hat) but at the same time keeping people who play together from playing each other. Make sure if you’re going to be late call me so I can make this possible.
Remember to bring your own stick for the team tournament. I will lend mine out to people who don’t have one.
Entry Fee:
- $5 for 3s
- $5 for MvC2 Singles
- $15 for MvC2 Team ($5 per person)
($.50 to play)

Rules:
In preperation for EVO we’re going to stick with EVO’s ruleset:
- 2/3 matches, Double Elimination Brackets.
- 3/5 for Losers and Winners finals.
- You may not use any glitch that prevents the game from being played. This includes game freezing, game resetting, player freezing, etc.
- Deadbody infinites are allowed to gain a positional advantage, but not to delay the game.
- Winner may not use the “Switch Glitch” to have a different starting character.
Some notes to consider:
- If this goes as planned, if I run another tournament, Singles will be on console and Teams will be on cabinet.
- MvC2 cabinet is played on an 8-way joystick.
- 3s cabinet is played on p360s.
