for sure, carpooling rocks ahaha
if anyone has any hookups with other venues, pass them along, hopefully we can get a cooler place haha. until then SEE YOU GUYS ON MONDAYS
Yep, was cool meeting everyone tonight. I’ll probably forget your names by next week, so I apologize ahead of time. Really looking forward to playing there each week since it seems a lot of people play my trouble matches.
And Ryan, composite is the Red/White/Yellow hookups. Sorry, I couldn’t use that TV for the PS2. I’ll see about bringing my big screen next week though.
the small tv i brought has it! we hook up our gamecube to it at home all the time o_O
I only saw component hookups. Where do you hook up the video cable then for composite?
on the side of the TV i think the left side :<
OH! I didn’t look there. OK, maybe we can try again next week, lol

good shit tonight
Hey, I entered Tekken. It was you and I in the tournaments. Then we played in casuals (I was the Bruce/Dragonuv player) anyway and you kicked my ass for 5 matches, lol.
Also, got a question. For anyone using the pink My Little Pony Stick on that one station: Did you notice that sometimes the buttons were acting weird? Stuff like focus would release early while you were still holding down the buttons, or pressing buttons and nothing coming out? I run across these problems practicing, and tonight it was happening mid-game. Was wondering if anyone else had these problems so I can look into what I need to replace.
hey ryan i was curious about the marvel bracket monday night
i notice all the players that top 8 or place frequently were all in once side of the bracket, you had crisco and dios x play first round, than the winner of that played toki. and on the bottom bracket you had the new players/ i guess you can say begginers, did you do that on purpose or thats what just happen?
also whats the pay out for top 3 again, are you still taking money out the pot? there were 20 people i believe for marvel so thats like a 100 dollar pot and crisco only got 20, he should of least got 70. i was thinkng your just taking money out for your big event coming out in Nov.
ALSO THERE BETTER BE 20+ PEOPLE IN AE THIS MONDAY COMING UP!!!
hey cody im running on like no sleep so if i miss a question lemme know.
i actually did not seed the bracket this week, it was random. normally i seed by rating, to avoid matches like what happened this week. i just havent had time to update the elo yet, so i didnt run the bracket with elo seeding
21 people (triox didnt actually play he wanted to play tekken that was a mis register)
$2 to the pool
$1 to the beginner pool (yes im still doing this. :P)
$2 to the venue
for the open pool
2x21 = 42
50%*42 = 21
33%*42=14
17%*42=7
I actually donated $ pot, so crisco, bonfire, and max may have got a $1 or $2 more than what is listed.
To clarify, none of the saltmines money is going towards our event in november, and that prizepool will be a 70/20/10 split with no beginner pool (from what I understand) we’re running it with 2 other sponsors so i could be wrong about the %tages, but that’s what I will be pushing for.
To be honest, most people are starting to slowly inch out of the beginner elo (meaning no beginners are playing in the tournament) if that happens, the beginner pool will dissolve straight into the open pool.
I hope this clears it up, if not, ill answer tonight
and i could do random seeding, with the brackets, but to be honest, the bracket is filled with so many killers that some of these matches are bound to happen.
but no, i did not orchestrate these matches like this.
cool
i dont think random seeding is good in any tourney
you should always try to seed the players who got top 4 or players that you know shouldnt play at least in the 2nd-3rd round of winners or people that drove together
your not playing into favorites you just want to see good matches later on
and let everyone have a chance
And I totally agree. I try to do it on a week to week, as I said I didn’t have time to ratethe last two tournaments yet. (School is killing me) but I promise after this week no more random seeding I’m sorry this weeks bracket was meh and everyone had tough matchups with a lot of them unable to be streamed. Thanks Cody for making sure I knew. Sorry if the English is crappy typing on my phone haha
no problem
if you ever need help or advice i got you man
just feel free to pm me on srk or message me on facebook
edit:
your doing a good job man
since your getting so many good turn outs
keep doing you
In order to make sure we have enough participants for next weeks tournaments, I have provided the Challonge brackets for AE & Persona 4 Arena!
Please only sign up if you are coming, and if either game doesn’t have a good amount (at least 10 people) by the start of the Saltmines next Monday, we will revert to a Marvel tournament in order to be fair to the Marvel players.
AE:

Persona 4 Arena: http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/8dincc58eq
P.S. Marvel players, if you’re interested in running a side tournament or a side team tournament, just post up on the SDFGC page and hopefully one of the players can coordinate that :]
For real! I don’t want AE canceled again.
You guys having an AE tournament on monday?
