They used to have tournaments there, but then they stopped. It seemed like one week is was great. 40+ people entering, then the next week no one. :\

Thank you -BF- for the (sad) information. I really wanted to start entering tournaments as soon as the new season started. bummer. oh well. nobody called my name today at nickel city! i got there at 5:00 and nobody called out djquackfunky at all! oh well i played this one guy with glasses and he he used rolento and ken and some other people and he beat me a few times and i beat him a few times. we went back and forth until a lot of people crowded the machine and pretty soon this one big guy (i didnt catch his name, he was african american and used ken yamazaki and kyo, anyone know him?) started beating everybody. then the asian guy with glasses beat him (he was probably tired after all the fighting he did), and then i beat the guy with glasses. i was happy. then my dumb brother beat me. that sucked. oh well. even though theres no tournaments, ill probably come back on saturday.

Im dumb for beating you? probably, but when your 17, you’ll be better too! anyway, have you noticed how whenever i play there, if theres a crowd, the crowd goes away during my match? while i like that ( i get nervous in front of crowds, unlike you, who adores all the attention) i cant help but wonder why they leave: maybe my style is boring? or because i use c-groove? who knows. but yeah i cant believe you fought all those guys today. remember the last time we went and that one african american almost beat me? my terry pulled off the impossible comeback, and before he could put in his nickels for a rematch, dad was calling us to go home, so i was like “good game! bye bye!”

but anyway, what i really wanted to know was, is their a list of names of people who go there regularly? im too timid to ask for names (lame i know)

i was bored so i checked srk and wtf who are these new heads. btw nickel is the worst arcade in the world. i used to back this place up when is was getting shitty but i gave up cause it never got better. and golden token is actually a better arcade now not because of better sticks(the sticks there are still not too great and the buttons suck ass)but cause they got better games. oh yea btw golden token is near sdsu its like 25 mins from nickel so unless u can drive its not really worth goin to all the trouble to get down there.
hello tommy, my brother and I will try to make it on saturday as well but i might have senior pictures that day (which im not looking foward too). but it doesnt matter since im not very good, just lucky. I swear every victory i have there (unless its my brother, cuz i know his techniques) are pure luck.
By the way, I was playing the game for gamecube at a friends house for a sleepover, and almost right after the first match, i was called a “special whore”. My question is is that even a real thing you dont want to be, or did they make that up? i didnt know you can do too many specials…

I’ve heard the sticks are better than Nickel. It’s in between all the players. And hell they use Nickels now too.
Problem is, I need my damn license. If golden token is really close to nickel then I can go.
The sticks at nickel (well the one machine) are just fine with me. The other big cab sticks are shit, and the one next to the good machine is way too tight. IMO, the sticks are fine on the one cab.
I may be going down to nickel tomorrow (saturday). If so I’ll post once more.

Yes I must be doing something wrong lol. Its okay cuz after that they hooked up some dragonball z game, boodo something, and proceeded to destroy me in it. Everything balanced out in the end. Special whore, when they said that to me I wasnt sure what to think at all.

I would consider going to golden token, but im hopelessly hooked to that one Japanese baseball game in the free play section. On Wednesday when I went with my bro and cousin, we were jamming on it. My cousin and I were yelling like crazy from it. That killed me.
Tomorrow (Saturday the 14th) I may go with my lil bro, mr djquackfunky himself, and play a bit. Ill be the scrawny latin vegan with a notepad asking for names. Itd be nice to know the names of the people beating me. J you can tell my brother, hell be the one pumping nickels in the machine everytime he loses. And he talks a lot of quack. And he loves his n-akuma/nak/ken team.
