@ottomatic, would have been nice to see your Wu, there wasnāt much character variety on stream today. Pretty much all Genjuro, Haohmaru, Charlotte, Tam, Yashu, and a few Yoshis, Jubeiās and Laban picking Kyoshiro on purpose.
I thought it was a great tourney despite too much Genjuro. But we were all kind of expecting that, and it was still pretty hype. I think there was some worry that the game might be a bit dull to watch but thatās been squashed. The game is hype and will get even better with a balance patch and new characters being added in the future.

I won my first pool in winners but lost in round 2 pools.
but iām satisfied by my placing. my goal was to win my first pool or at least get high in the bracket as i can.
So in my first poolā the characters that I Fought was Kyoshiro,darli and another darli.

Hey would it be possible to get some games in samurai shodown v special on steam and samurai shodown on ps4.
Good thing they decided to speed up the release of DLC characters.

I will be very curious to see how brave they get with the balance adjustments. There arenāt many characters that absolutely need tweaks, and more characters at the bottom that need them than characters at the top.

NGL when they dropped that āspecial surprise in September!ā my heart raced to see Baiken announced as the first SamSho guest ever, what with ArcSys mentioning they had an announcement to make earlier that same day
If it were up to me, Iād just tweak Genjuroās frame data to make the rekkaās less safe, and maybe make his light DP not act like SF2ās DP. Then just fix Shiki and Kyoshiroās hitboxes.

Agreed. I really hope they tweak Shiki and Wu especially, because they seem pretty junky right now.
@d3v I saw some Genjuro vid on Twitter that had people getting out of some of his moves, rekka included, after two hits. Iām not sure it it was a character specific vid (Galford maybe?) or if that holds for a lot of the cast. Iāll see if I can find it though, it might interest you.

Is matchmaking going to be fixed ever? Thereās no way thereās only 1 room in kasuals or sometimes thereās 0. No way. Thatās the reason I feel like I made a huge mistake buying this game. Itās literally dead. Well itās not but it doesnāt find anything so might as well be. Sometimes it doesnāt find anyone on ranked either. So disappointing because the game is great tbhā¦

I wanted to ask this, what is the ideal way to play samurai shodown. At evo, there were footsie based matches, zoning and rushdown matches and style differences with the characters. Is there a way youāre suppose to play then or does the game allow for the player to play their style.
In sf for example you usually have to play based off the archetype of the character, is samurai shodown similar to that.
Where are you located? And how is your connection? If you have a crummy connection, thereās a chance people are filtering you out.
By and large rushdown isnāt optimal, but there are situations when it is, so it kind of depends.
I would say that in order to play the game in a more optimal way, you should focus on hitting half as many buttons as you would in any other fighting game. Most of the time people get killed because they try to play the game the way they would other fighting games.
Thereās definitely room for personal style, especially in 5Sp and IV. The new game looks pretty homogenous so far, but itās only a month old so I guess weāll see how it plays out.
