The Canadian dude that played Justin with Ken in the tournament, the one with the fanny pack across his back, was that the aforementioned AdamB? Which one was Samir? I saw Nagata betting on his buddies all day but I don’t know which one was Samir. All I know is that Aneurysm X aka Stoneface didn’t need to cheat to stomp on everyone I saw him play. Haha that guy was so good.

Okay, it’s a good thing I found this thread when I did. Samir did not cheat, the SF anniversary stick was mine. Actually, he stole it from me when I left it lying around and I tracked him down later. When he said he needed a stick and he seemed to be playing a good Yun, I let him use it for the tournament (when I suggested he use a Hori stick to borrow from the SRK folks, he said he liked american teardrop sticks better).
Now, I don’t know about this “only works on one ps2”, but when I tried it on my match (some dude named Christian that played Necro), it didn’t work the first time, but after I unplugged and tried it again, it worked fine.
So, if you’re going to accuse Samir of modding his stick, that means that you’re accusing me of modding it myself and letting him use it. I’m American, I’m a noob, but I’ve got more pride than to mod my own stick. A win isn’t a win unless you play by the rules.
I don’t know if everyone hates Canada or whatever, or that Samir generally seems like a shady guy, but if he cheated, then he modded my stick on the spot and then gave it back to me. Which I doubt.

well, even if that is true it IS possible to make shit not work, but not likley. It could have been just that whoever’s ps2 it was had fucked up settings or somthing, or it could have been intentional… we don’t really know… we do know that the settings WERE changed though. So regardless of that, if samir was playing on only that ps2 and it had rigged damage settings… intentional or not it makes him look like a cheater.
Wow thats pretty retarded. For 3s in London we don’t use memory cards on PS2 setups just in case something like this happens. Same for CvS2 and a few other games. However for games where certain characters need to be unlocked like Order Sol from GGXX:/ the guys (Neoempire crew) would load from one of their memory cards only on each set up.
