Umm… the fact that she’s not really a zoning character and more of a rush-down character than Ken and Akuma (Akuma can both zone and rush down with the best of them methinks) I suppose.
Strengths:
Link combos work on the majority of the cast (need small adjustments to work on the few that don’t normally), easy to do (mostly) and doesn’t matter whether your opponent is standing or crouching (if you’re doing the right one),
Good combo damage,
Easily comboable Ultra,
Good cross-up (thank you j.MK),
Good jumping attacks,
Good AA normal (c.HP),
Adorably cute and very fun.
Weaknesses:
Quite a few bad matchups,
No good reversal without meter,
Less than average health (950),
Ultra damage is a little weak (especially Shinkuu Hadouken),
Not the best pokes/footsie,
Fireball is pretty shit.
That’s all I can think of, some people may disagree with some points shrug
Hey all. I think I’ve gotten as good as I can get with the ps3 pad. If I am going to make this switch to stick… what should I go with? I’ve been staring at the custom stick fourm for a while and they look soo damn sexy… Should I drop a lot of money and get a sick stick and cherish it forever? or… buy a “starter” stick… I don’t know what to do. Those b15 sticks… kinda make me cream my pants. So what are your thoughts?
Anyone know a good way to train in “footsies”, right now all I’m doing is recording Ryu in training mode walking back and forth and doing cr.mk. Then yeah I play that back and walk in and out of the poking zone with Sakura and try punishing with crouching or standing roundhouse. Also what are some of her other good pokes? I know cr.mk is one, but with the footsie game, I can’t seem to combo into Shouken right after cause they’re too far out of range.
EDIT: Ah guess I can combo into hp.shouken, just gotta get use to the timing and the distance between us.
Well. I feel that if I drop the money… I’m going to HAVE to put the time into it. I want to learn regardless, but being able to use a work of art… and use my character well enough to support that work of art, just to better my game all together is my goal. Plus if you put a bit of money aside every week a stick from him is only maybe… a month and a half away. I’m not a pro at all the stick parts, but I suppose I’m just gonna have to ask him to just go all Sanwa parts. Not sure if I should do 6buttons or 8.
Just sent him an email for my stick, I’ll keep you guys posted when he replies… and I cried a lil knowing well how much I would / could / will be spending. Lmao… but 450$ for an amazing stick, improvement in my game, more love for a hobby of mine, a unique work of art… why not? …
its prolly more than 450 now that I think about it x.x;; … lol
Yeah $450 is a lot of money. Depending on the stick you buy you could probably do it yourself for half that. There are tutorials and guide out the ass man. Plus you could always ask questions. I would seriously consider doing it yourself. But that’s entirely up to you.
I would say play some endless matches or ranked… and just don’t jump. Work on your spacing and fadc > poke … poke poke poke all day… fight that urge to jump lol. Also if your sorta close to them, buffer hp. Sho after your st.lk / cr. mk … if you press it past enough it shouldn’t come out if it wiffs. Granted it sucks when your slow and it does come out lol…
I either get a madcatz TE and put some custom art in there. Or build yours from the ground up. Those b-15’s are nice but way expensive. Just build it from the ground up and you’ll appreciate it more. Or get a TE madcatz with some custom art and save yourself a lot of cash.
