she’s always been able to do it because of how small she is. However, I wanna say there are some characters who crouch low enough to where she’ll wiff. Or maybe it’s “she wiffs some crouching opponents at range”.
I don’t specifically remember, but i DO know it’s not fail-safe.
Ok… trial 23.What the fuck.Seriously, this is INSANE.I think it’s the hardest trial in the game.I did viper’s old #3, but this is absolutely insane.I think this will be the only trial i will never be able to do.How did you guys do it?
What one’s that? I remember a couple getting me stuck for quite a while but definitely not the hardest in the game, there’s still a few other characters I’m stuck on
The one with EX SRK FADC cl.mk.I mean, that part is INSANE, BUT you also have a one frame link before it and a one frame link after.WTF capcom?!?!AND there is no way to cheat it like it did with ken and Dan.(For Dan 24, i did cl.mp xx EX GADO xx FA lvl2, repeat, cl.mp xx hk danku, so i didn’t have to go through any one frame links.
Do it non stop. When you miss the Shou>mk link, just do lk.Tatsu and get back on the combo. Do it nonstop and till your wrists/fingers hurt
2)Plink every single thing. I don’t think I’d have gotten it without plinking. If you don’t, you’ll probably stay here twice as long.
Don’t throw your controller/stick. Seriously, not worth it.
Congratulations, I still have Guile, Blanka, El Fuerte, Balrog, Gen and Ibuki to complete (1 for each 'cept Balrog who needs 2).
Yeah, even though I don’t usually plink I tried plinking everything that could be plinked in quite a lot of trials, that’s not saying the plinking was successful or not but it probably helped a bit
The F F+MP+MK on the EX Shou, if you end up getting the EX Focus Attack instead of the EX Focus Cancel it’s because you tried it too soon (most likely), I had that happen to me a fair bit
What are you guys having trouble with in the combo? I find it easier to do the move after the EX shouoken if you fadc after the 3rd hit off the 2nd part. I didn’t have any trouble with the mk tatsus though. They feel the same as in vanilla.
I’m stuck on that trial for her myself. Though I’ve done far less of the trials than everyone else here seems to have done; there’s a few characters I haven’t done any with (e.g. Adon), I’ve done about 12-14 for most characters, completed Hakan and have 1 left for Sakura, Makoto and T.Hawk. I think the overall completion percentage is around 68%. I seriously can’t imagine ever doing about 17/18 upwards for most characters.
Sorry if I’m missing this info being obviously stated somewhere else, but is there a consensus on Sakura’s best BnB combos? The one I think of as the standard one is j.HK, s.HP, LK Tatsu, c.HP, EX Tatsu and then one of the following: Ultra, reset or an Otoshi. But are there (a) better ones or (b) ones that are more reliable (since the c.HP does seem to give some people problems, me included)?
Also, are there certain things you should just never, ever do with her? Like, her Otoshi is obviously an absolute liability if used outside of a combo, for example. Finally, what normals are best for various situations. I’m assuming c.HP is her anti-air but which of her pokes are commonly used and how do you control space with her? Her specials and normals don’t seem too good at getting people to do what you want them you to do; I always feel pretty overwhelmed by the other player when I use Sakura and it usually comes down to be luckily getting a couple of good combos in.
well you have to practise footsies and now the priority of your normals.
she has a good s.lk / s.lp
she has a good s.hk
she has a good cr.mk which can be canceled into Shou
i think her basic non EX BnB:
cr.mk -> HP Shou
cr.hp -> Tatsu
if you want to go more advantaced
cr.hp or s.hp -> lk tatsu linked into:
a) cr.hp (1 frame link) -> into another special (harder ,more dmg and stun and meter gain , may be character specific)
b) cr.lk or s.lk (2 frame link) -> into another special (easier, less dmg)
i.e.:
you can do on Dudley/Juri/Abel/Dalshim and some others
s.hp xx lk tatsu,cr.hp xx lk tatsu,cr.hp xx hp Shou
~350-400 dmg without even using one EX bar and you score a knock down for a wakeup game!
with ex you can end into Ex tatsu and finish or Reset
her basic combo starter is definitly
cr.lk , cr.lp, cr.hp -> into BnB
(most likely after the use of a cross up or a reset since it only works close)
her most advanced combo starter is
cr.mk ->hp Shou FADC into BnB
(hard to do, but has good range! and can lead into great dmg and Stun!)
On top of the advice freetgy posted, I would also look at the Destin stickied post. It goes over a lot of the questions you have and that thread has helped me immensely. In regard to linking c.HP after lk tatsu, I would say just go for c.HP instead of s.lk/c.lk afterward every time as long as you’re close enough. The timing difficulty is actually about the same if you plink the c.HP as you can’t plink lk inputs. Just make sure to practice in training mode with inputs on to see if you’re plinking correctly and consistently. If you’re playing online and its particularly laggy and want to go with something safer, you can almost always link into her HP Shou out of her basic lk/lp/c.mk links which isn’t bad damage. If the opponent is standing or you know you can land s.lp on them crouching as the 2nd hit of the link, you could also go for a sweep for a better setup for a crossup.
