ever played pc g1 rang? zeeshan does…with turbo button, electricity is a GREAT AA
Well it’s a guessing game for us as well =\ Which is why I always like to go for either throw or tick throws =P If he jumps, he’ll eat a c.Fierce on the way down, if not, he’ll eat a throw T.T; If he doesn’t block the ticks (usually c.Short -> c.Jab) then I’ll confirm into c.Fierce -> ex.Hurricane which sometimes hits and sometimes misses =P
^I’m pretty sure Sakura has a Jump-in that will stuff Electricity as an anti-air, will get back to you on this.
Oh that’s right, ground link combo into EX Shunpuu doesn’t work on Blanka a lot of the time Sadly can’t use s.LP > c.MK xx Shou either, stupid hit boxes.
j.HK has medium success against Electricity, can’t say why it works sometimes and not others, seems like a pretty big mix between straight beating, trading and straight losing x_x;;
Damn that Blanka is boring, bores his opponents into submission >.>
Beating electricity is about spacing the jump HK correctly, I think you also have to do it fairly deep, although it has been a while. Either way, you can beat the move 100% of the time if you learn how to do it, someone training mode this up!
I used to do lk tatsu after crouch hp against air but I found I was in worse positioning than just walking up. The only time I would lk tatsu would be if I was unsure if I would get a grounded hit, where I would want the lk tatsu, or an air hit, where I would somewhat not want it.
I’ve been playing the Blanka matchup a lot lately, his balls aren’t that hard to deal with (somthing about what she said), you can jab his horizontal ball on reaction (though if they’re smart about their spacing, the whiffed hop into throw could become preblematic), and if you see him step back, start chargin’ your focus, depending on where it hits (or if it hits at all) will determine if you want to dash out or let fly with the focus. That said, I hate the slide punch, I swear that thing is active on frame -2 or somthing, I simply can’t block it on reaction if I was walking foward like some people’s pokes/counterpokes, then again, if they blow the spacing, free combo, so…
Now I’ve got a completely unrelated question, but what can Sakura do against a good rushdown/pressure game? I played a couple pretty sick Vipers yesterday, and went 0-12 against Viper. And I’m thinking I wouldn’t fare much better against the likes of Rufus or just rushdown characters in general. So aside from, “score the knockdown and rush their shit,” what can I do when the momentum isn’t in my favor?
is there something,i can combo into cLK?
All light attacks and LK Shunpuu (and jumping attacks of course).
and my personal favorite: flower kick (f+mk),c.lk xx ex shunpu!
only works on counter hit, but when it does its soooo sweet
i saw that sometimes in a few vids…im planing to add this in my mixup:woot:
ok,this is the second time,i get fucked up,by this shit:
i fought an honda, and the first time he was able,he startet his “sumo smash” 24/7…i just get raped,by this lame taktic
what can i do?!i mean,im not the best sakura player out there…but this makes me feel, like a g3 flowchartken
back dash if possible, c.hp should be able to beat it if timed right, late Ex Shou beats it too i think.
For his Sumo smash he has to measure the range so u got too move around (and not get hit by the first one )
but i too have problems with those buttrapers when trapped in (Sakuras Wake up Options are pretty poor)
I always take distance to Hondas and try to build up meter by hado at the beginning.
(Only Char where Hado is pretty Safe, and beat it beats headbutt.)
Then try getting closer, and use good blockstrings and throw.
When u got him in ur Mixup he is a goner,
(But Carefull his EX (sumo smash / Headbutt) are good antiairs how ever 8/)
i was talking about this in the general thread.
You can actually link f+mk -> any light that’s not c.lp on normal hit. It has to be meaty, and the link to the light = 1 frame.
So you can do f.mk -> s.lp -> ex shun, and it’ll work. (it’ll work because the only way you’re GOING to get a meaty is hitting the frame they’re still standing anyway).
You can set this up off of resets, techs, or wakeup. I wish I had some usable recording equip atm. I should beg eish to do it.
maybe i can handle it…then i will record it
so u mean fMK->sLP is combo?
It’s a combo if it hits meaty. Which means the flower kick doesn’t hit on the first active frame. Which in turn means you have to get a really specific spacing/timing to nail it.
Any viable setup found for this yet Dogy?
yeah, you’re looking for a meaty f.mk
To give you exactly what you’re looking for, the first active frame is when her leg is parallel to the ground, second frame (the one you’re aiming for) is 45 degrees from the ground.
As for setups, hell yeah. Shunpu reset is the blatant one. Because now, along with crossunder/crossup/throw mixup, you’re throwing high/low into the mix, both with rewards.
The thing that sucks is that you can’t cross AND do high low with it, only the super obvious jumpin.
Other time to look for it is anytime tech option. I love doing c.lk -> c.lp -> s.lk -> shou, so I’m liable to throw it out as a tech option.
The thing that makes this so good faking the overhead (whiffing it on purpose).
I had hopes of saving this, randomly busting this out at a tourney and getting e-famous and all, but I kinda realize that everytime I do something like this I never wind up amazing anyway lol.:lol:
But yeah, merry ChristmaHannuKwanza Saks, here’s hoping for a better overhead (or atleast the a2 overhead) in the future.
Nice, I’ll try to throw that into my game now and then.
And merry christmas for every Sak in the world. Hope you get some new bloomers because the red ones are getting kinda old.
i have a question/mini-rant from a beginners point of view: why are there so many kens on wifi and how do i retaliate a reversal shoryuken upon wakeup?
When you say wifi, do you mean their connections lag? It’s because they’re uber-casuals.
As for the shoryuken, stand just out of throw range and block. if the ken/Ryu/Akuma/Sagat/Seth/Dan/etc is an srk masher you will block and be free to punish. You also won’t be in danger of getting thrown.
if you want to know how to punish it, any of Sakura’s BnB’s will be good enough.
i’ve faced worse lag on other games than Sf4, so this is a much improvement. just soo many kens and so many fierce shoryukens, it gets boring.
huh. i’ll try that. i guess its the lag from the internet thats throwing me off when they land -_-. i gotta get my friends into SF4
Oh, Ken’s lp.srk is VERY hard to punish online. If I’m fighting an SRK mashing Ken, everytime I see him spam an lp.SRK, I stand-by for the next one, which will leave him closer to me and ready for the punish. The other characters’ srks are easy to punish though.
