Sakura buffs/changes

What about a 1 frame link from her overhead? Could be a little to much but it’s fairly slow as-is.

but see that mixup makes her more vulnerable. if u go over your opponent lands before you and gets to do practically anything for free. and if you are going to put yourself at a disadvantage like that and you do get the combo u deserve to do a lot of damage. your opponent can do multiple things now to get out of the mixup like cr lp, cr lk, maybe mediums or hards depending on the opponent or just neutral jump, or reversal or block. after taking all of that into account u deserve to land big damage.

If you don’t cross up, then you land before them. So, it’s a mix-up (like all her other resets). They could mash jab, but if you don’t cross up, they’ll eat a counter hit HP. If you do cross up, then they have to have really frame tight mashing to trade, otherwise they’ll get hit there, too.

So, yes, it’s possible to mash out of ONE of the options for some characters, but a risk averse player probably won’t. At least not everytime, which is the point of a reset. Make them guess when and when not to do things. The benefit is great…nice damage and stun.

Also, like I said, characters without 3 frame jabs have a harder time.

And, of course, this is supposed to be mixed in with all her other reset options, making it harder to predict overall.

EDIT: after messing arouynd with it more, it seems you can mess around with the timing to make the cross up reset almost impossible to mash escape. I recorded it in practice mode, and tried mashing crouch jab with Ryu, and it got beat like 19 out of 20 times. It’s just a matter of finding the right timing on the jump HP.

im just saying that it wouldnt be over powered or too much. it takes guessing by both characters. i have to guess he wont do reversal and he as to guess which side im on or that i will attack. sagat requires that u made one bad move while sakura would require at least to bad moves. the fact u got the first combo off says he made himself vulnerable and then to get the second one means i made another mistake.

Not much else to talk about. By this point I think we’ve all pretty much submitted all the “requests” we can think of concerning Sakura.

Reiterating the need for the return of the “Sakura Shuffle” however. This must happen Capcom.

i think they should replace sakura’s panties with a puffy, saggy diaper that emits an odor graphic.

There’s only one thing I want aside from most of the stuff everyone’s mentioned and that’s Sakura’s ordinary outfit having Karin’s duds as a secret outfit. I expect if they do it they’ll just give her a blue headband rather than the bow. Alas I don’t see it happening and that sucks since it would require as little effort as her colour 10 on her Alt

Some changes I would like to see:

  • Allow for more follow up options after lp shoryuken. It always irked me when only my mp shoryuken can hit but every other attack completely misses. I don’t like selective follow ups. How many of you guys think you will be able follow up Ultra 2 after lp shoryuken?
  • Change baboti punch options. It has maybe two uses, follow up to ex tatsu (only useful if your opponents is good with guessing your resets or killing off the opponent), or using an ex and trying to hit your opponents after a projectile (some characters you can’t even do this unless you do it right when they execute it [Guile] and better players can anticipate it after some uses). I would like to be able to cancel it mid air instead of at the end of it’s arc by a kick button. That way it can almost work like a short hop. Maybe after the cancel you can also do all the other air options like tatsu or just her air normals but that might be going overboard.
  • Give her a gym teacher alternative costume already.

These would be my some of my changes that I can think of right now, granted I am barely a mediocre player.

You can fadc anti air shouken into otoshi currently. I just solved both you problems at once!

Why would you? Seems like a bit waste of ex which Sakura is dependent upon.

big waste of meter. but on large characters u can anti air lp shou to otoshi. but here is the problem, the shou as an anti air suck balls. it doesnt work worth a crap. they need to fix that moves it box bad cause as of now its not working. i dont now how many times ive tried to catch some one jumping and i stick my fist up thier butt but nothing happens but me getting punished for using my terrible anti air. fix it capcom. but i like the otoshi idea. being able to cancel out of it sounds amazing

It’s not like she doesn’t already have a beast anti-air…

You can’t “punish” someone jumping over a full screen fireball with a c.HP though (and only get 15-60 damage for your troubles). Don’t think you could jump over the top of LP Shou in Alpha >.>

Can’t agree with you there. It’s working very well for me. Sure, sometimes it trades, which is kinda bad now because of the dmg of lp Shou, but if I can do Ultra II after that in Super, it’s all good. But I usually even beat Gief’s/Honda’s splash jump-in. It’s worth a lot to me.

EX Otoshi is just fine. Don’t get too predictable of course. Normal Otoshi is useless though. A dive kick is always nice, but I’d rather have it not linked to Otoshi tbh.

u didnt say anything about ultra 2 and yes that would be worth the meter.

there is one problem with her anti air if the person neutral jumps u wiff and get punished because it takes forever to recover. take gief for example nuetral jump ultra…ouch. its a great anti air if they thow an attack and thats about it

It’s nice in block strings on occasion. cr.lk, cr.lp,cr.mk xx otoshi or fireball or shunpu for variety.

That’s not a problem with the move. Just don’t do it when they neutral jump, that’s all.

lp shouken is pretty useless to me. Occasionally I link it after a few jabs if I have no ex or for quick offensive move (again would be nice to have more options for follow up). mp and hp shouken is far more useful because most opponents I face forget that I can punish jumps at those distances.

When I was thinking of changes to her otoshi punch, I was thinking of Cammy’s hooligan throw combination. I guess to make her otoshi more useful to me, it has to travel more horizontally than vertically and give her a grab mixup. It doesn’t have to be a damaging grab, maybe she can grab the shoulders to do a leap frog (which would actually fit Sakura really well although its already part of her normal grab as it is).

LP Shou still has always been a better AA than it is now. Invincible startup would make it good again.
