Oh man. Now I know how it feels to be taunted.
To be honest out of those 15 minutes of that one I only liked the combo into super taunt ultra in the 3rd fightā¦iāve seen better vids from himā¦
You wanna know why? Because that Ken was really damn good. Hibiki relies on a lot of gimmicks in his game, like EX Danku -> throw. Against good players you gotta be creative and patient. Otherwise youāre gonna get outpoked all day.
The Ken was good, wasnāt great though, messed up quite a few links
I actually wonder if Hibiki-san āhit-confirmsā into the Legendary Taunt Ultra cancel combo, can tell he goes for it when he uses Gadouken in his cross-up combo but Iāve never seen him cancel into Legendary Taunt on block. Sometimes he doesnāt combo into it on hit, makes me think he just wasnāt able to notice fast enough, hmm~
Hey guys. Iām a Dan player turned Rose player. I just started putting up videos of my rose play on youtube, feel free to check it out. http://www.youtube.com/user/artistbydefault
Mostly though, I came here to add some spice to my SF4. You see, I canāt always put up bulk of Rose gamesā¦so I decided to do videos of my alt, DAN HIBIKI! So I made a side project called 'The Road to Saikyo", in which iāll play random player matches with my scrubby ass dan.
Find the first one that I put up
thereā¦more to come hopefully. Leave comments on the video if you wanna respondā¦iām curious to hear what you guys gotta say. I do it for fun, and *I think, * its worth a watch, at least for a laugh!
OK, u got me this time
hereās the direct link
That was really really impressive.
Neutral jump lk knee is great, I donāt think people understand how good it is. It canāt be crouched to make it whiff, beats throw tech, and it hits far away.
The empty jump cr.lk -> EX Danku was pure sex.
He could have gotten away with some ultras through fireballs though. Disappointing because thatās one of the best ways to land his ultra. I see it as a short-range Seth ultra. Punishes everything, including jumps.
He had some great matches with that Gouken
Yeah, was expecting him to Ultra through some fireballs too but I guess he thought he wasnāt close enough to do it, he is or has been quite gutsy with throwing Ultras out before
Wow. Those Gouken matches were against desora. Heās an awesome Gouken player:

Whatās good everyone. I just did a FT10 with a very good dan player (IMO), best dan Iāve played. Maybe it will interest you guys.
Hope you enjoy it.
one of the videos of me playing at dreamhack. i played like crap and choked majorly.
Nevermind, itās good you represented Dan at least
Played better than I would have done, keep it up and youāll get used to the scene, choke less and play better
Thanks! I will. i got some ideas on how to improve my play (which include better taunting) and i also noticed i need to fix my stick up, it wasnāt all sloppy input! seems after a button mod my TE stick doesnāt always register QC motions as QC.
i will have to open the stick and check so that the connectors are properly in place.
If you wanna play a solid Dan, check out chaosberserker25. Easily the best Dan Iāve played.

[]Block the overhead. Itās a free DP on block. This is basically the move you should be looking for from Balrog when heās on the offensive. That and throws. If you had blocked all of his overheads and dpād them on block, you probably could have won just from that.
[]Jump ins everywhere from both people. DP his jump-ins.
[]Why didnāt you abuse lk danku? That is like Danās best tool. Itās better than Sagatās lk Tiger Knee. Donāt use EX, mk, or hk danku when lk danku will do. It gives you advantage on block. (Random EX Danku is a really good poke but it shouldnāt really be used in blockstrings much because itās minus on block and costs meter)
[]If you do get a blocked mk or hk danku, there are basically four things you can do. Throw (loses to jabs and reversals), Koryuken (beats everything but block and maybe backdash), backdash (resets the situation and puts you in control of the followup), or neutral jump (lets you set up tick throws or lk danku strings). You donāt want to just block. Backdash is mostly safe here, if Ryu reversal DPs and you backdashed you avoid the DP.
[]Get better at charging focus to level 2 versus pokes. Balrogās sweep versus your focus = free crumple. Straight/low rush punch = free crumple.
[]If you have two bars, donāt be afraid to DP FADC on wakeup. Either you get out of their mixup and put them in a mixup because they blocked or you get a free koryu and neutral j.mp.

Just wanna inform you that you can soul throw Dan out of all of his kick moves. Knee, mk dan kick, and hk dan kick. It sucks for Dan. =(
And donāt worry Gote Rog is a hard matchup for Dan because his entire game can be shutdown by mashing short. I play a good Rog all the time and he knows he can shut down all my mixups, throws, crossups, and kicks by just mashing short. Use the gadoken a lot against Rog though, it wonāt guarantee a win but itās useful. Same goes for Rufus.
Sameās true for Abelās Falling Sky and anyone with an air throw really. Itās just that a reversal Soul Through or Falling Sky will catch a Dan Knee If that starts happening then meaty c.MP (or something) into Dan Knee is viable, probably teach them to stop doing that reversal so youāll be free to do wake up knees again.
Hmm, zoome site seems to be down atm
What? This doesnāt work. Dan has a DP, and Rogās cr.lk is a 4 frame move. If you do cr.lk -> throw and he mashes cr.lk, unless heās doing option select tech, heās gonna eat the throw. Actually, even then, because heāll get the cr.lk to start up and get counter-hit thrown out of it.
If someoneās poking after blocking a crossup, throw, neutral jump, cr.lk, or DP. Any of these beat crouching short after blocking a non-stupid crossup.
Worst case scenario, use Koryu FADC to reinforce that they need to block.
Now, Rog mashing low jab is harder to deal with, but you can still tick throw him or DP to punish.
Off the top of my head, I would think that Danās s.mk would beat Rogās cr.lk, and grounded lk danku should usually win if spaced correctly. If someone is perfectly poking you out of dankus with jabs every time, youāre being too predictable.
Dan is bad, but Dan is not that bad.
In the first match near the end of the fourth round there is a crossup hk Danku (the second hit). I am looking into if this is possible to do consistently on the opponentās wakeup. If it can be the mk Danku too that makes it even better.
