Sacramento's (916) Petition for SFIV/SSFIV Arcade Thread

The scene is already pretty weak in the Sacramento/Roseville Area. Getting a cabinet like blazblue that is more niche than Street Fighter would make them lose quite a bit of money.

Anyone, please let me know what you guys like to see in RGL, I’ll try to make it happen. Right now I’m am busy with school, but when Summer comes around, I’ll probably be standing in front of RGL 24/7 getting signatures.

and ill be there helping u out! gettin a sf4 cab of any kind at RGL would be AMAZING

As it stands right now, I know that RGL is making huge budget cuts this year. I have been working as a lifeguard over the past 3 Summers working there, and this year, they are cutting out a lot of pay. It’ll be hard for them to try to get a SFIV or a BBCS cabinet there, but if all goes well with the signatures, and me cross-referencing with the business of the SFIV cabinet that the other GLs have, we can get the first new fighting game that they have had in quite some time.

The last fighting game cabinet that they got was back in 2003, with was the CvS Chaos cabinet, and that cabinet is apparently just an old SFA2 cabinet with the CvS Chaos board in the cabinet.

Sac-Town really needs either a better RGL or new arcade area in general. I my honest opinion, Sacramento needs to learn to enjoy the arcades, learn the thrill of playing one on one fights in the arcades, rather than playing MW2 on their consoles.

What fighting games does RGL have other than SVC Chaos?
And I agree with Mike “thxyoutoo”. If RGL is having budget problems, buying a 10k delta/vewlix cab might not be the best idea for them, as SFIV is going to be replaced by SSFIV and the only way they can get that is if they hack the cabinet. They might not profit from this sort of purchase.
They could do what MGL originally did and get their own TV setups and sticks and use them for arcademanias or any promotions they have and that can be a lot cheaper.

RGL also has a really old SNK cabinet that contains KoF '98 and I forgot to mention that they have a Tekken 5 cabinet, and Soul Calibur II cabinet.

The SNK cabinet is almost completly broken. The 1st player side is missing a button and the 2nd player’s joystick can not read going up, forward, or back.

The CvS Chaos is almost the same, but the 1st player side is the most complete one out of all of the other fighting arcade games, since it can read movements fairly well and the buttons are not as screwed up.

The Soul Calibur II cabinet is completely busted on both sides.

The Tekken 5 cabinet is the only cabinet that doesn’t have Suzo Happ parts, It runs on Sanwa parts, but the 2nd Player side joystick doesn’t respond very well, and the 1st player buttons sometimes need to be forced to work. They also seem that they are missing the JLF shaft cover and you can feel rust on them and they feel like they don’t have the square gates on the JLFs.

They also have an Ultracade there with SFII/SFIIT but the screen is really worn out and has lost most of it’s color and the both the sticks and buttons don’t really respond too well.

If I can land a job there as an arcade tech, I would replace everything with Semistu/Sanwa parts and I would be the only one there that will give a crap about the condition of all of the arcade cabinets. In my opinion, they don’t seem to care about the condition of any of their cabinets. The Initial D Stage 4 cabinet is in okay condition. The 2nd player side runs smoothly, while the steering wheel on the left hand side radically teeters back and forth and makes the game really hard to play on that side. That can also be said for the 3rd player of WM Maxi Tune 3 DX and the 4th player side is completely busted. IIRC a Ghost Squad Gun Con is missing, the Beatmania IIDX Distortion used to be broken until they fixed it, and the Speakers on the new DJ Max Technika are blown out.

They need to get their act together and actually give a crap on the conditions of their cabinets IMO.

SSFIV is now confirmed for arcades, so if they can afford it, then more power to them.

But, I also think that if we can either “donate” or a least get some signatures for this, I think we can make it happen. I can talk to the manager about this proposition.

Something else u might want to consider is the fact that Dave & Busters is opening up real soon and they’ll be right across from the Galleria. You could maybe check with them as well. I’m sure they’ve got money to invest for now.

Thanks for that info, I’ll see what I can do with that.
