Ryu UAS, still a boss

Hi I’m new but I have been messing around with Ryu and Batsu (he’s my main) so I wanted to see if the combo’s I’ve come up with are any good.

Mid screen to corner:
:snkb:,:snkc:,:d::snkc:,:r::snkc:,:bdp::snkc:,:snkb:,:snkc:,:d::snkc:,:r::snkc:,:bdp::snkc:

This is my staple combo, though I switch various things. I might throw in an assist before the first :d::snkc: and IAD :snkc: and then follow the combo from there.
After the final :bdp::snkc: I like to throw in Shin-Shoryuken, but apparently from what I read it’s not worth the meter? Gonna have to run some tests on that.
I also like to assist at the end, looking something like

:snkb:,:snkc:,:d::snkc:,:r::snkc:,:bdp::snkc:,:snkb:,:snkc:,:d::snkc:,:r::snkc:,:assta:,:bdp::snkc:,:dp::snkc:

Idk, it’s all pretty basic. Just wish I had realized Ryu was so awesome before getting owned by my friends Tekkaman and Tekkablade.

you should end combos with tatsumaki instead of a 2nd donkey kick

B 2B C 2C 6C 421C, B (2B) C (2C) 6C 214C. That alone is around half life on most characters, and can be BBQ’d/Supered/Assisted afterward to extend it. I personally usually BBQ into another B (2B) C (2C) 6C 214C, then add in Souki’s assist (other assists work here too) into B (2B) C (2C) 6C 214C 236AB, and I sometimes get saucy enough to DHC to bring Souki in.

() = either optional in the corner, or will cause your combo to drop if you try mid-screen

@ zabuzafreak: Scaling on the Shinshoryuken from your combo would bring the damage down so much that it would just be better to finish the combo by itself, or finish with Shinku Hadouken instead. The higher the combo meter, the lower the damage on the Shinshoryuken (exponentially, it would seem). My suggestion is to look for an opportunity to use it as the combo initiator, and find the timing to combo from it. You’ll waste a lot less meter, and get a lot more damage.

Thanks very much for the advice, my friend is playing Tekka and Tekkablade as I mentioned and I’m set to face him tomorrow (well today really as its now thursday) so thanks a lot for the help. Also, my team right now is Batsu and Ryu… any suggestions on better people to support either of them, or does Ryu pretty much work well with everybody?

Also, I find that adding in the 2B or an A hurts the scaling too much. With the tests I’ve run the most damage is from starting with a 5B and immediately transitioning to a 5C though I can see how the 2B would be great for getting the combo to connect on block if they don’t crouch.
