hello guys could you help me with a combo? the combo is Dash Punch Link into Crouching Hard Punch, whats about the timing. is there any plinking tips or something? thanks
I’m guessing “dash punch” is sps, in which case that’s a 1 frame link. We can’t help you, sorry. You just have to practice like the rest of us.
thanks for info mingo. im training at the moment but i rarely do that move. another question is; does hdtv interrupting me to do this move maybe??? is it possible? just want to know thanks .
What?
Does lp shoryu have more invincibility over hp shoryu now?
No. They both have 2 frames of invincibility.
This.
But I think I’ve come up with(I’m sure the combo thread has it written down there, I just figured this out for myself like last night) the only sort of useful way to use it in a combo
In the corner I was able to: solar plexus > mk > EX tatsu > U2. (U2 adds about 150 + dmg after the ex tatsu, I think)
It does 400+ dmg, not something you can easily land whenever like SRK FADC U1, and it’s only in the corner. But it’s still pretty flashy to land, and will get you cool points if you win a round/match with it. Oh, make sure you activate U2 immediately after ex tatsu, they should be doing the “knocked away air spin” animation and be above Ryu’s eye level. If you do it too late it’ll whiff, even just a couple milliseconds off and it’ll hit only like 2-3 times then whiff the rest(both of those fuck ups will leave you open for a free combo, plus you just wasted meter for nothing!)
Ultra 1 is still pretty much the go to ultra, good people wont even try neutral jumps to bait a shoryuken after U2 becomes available. I just use it during online play and casuals locally.
From my own experience, TVs can mess you up bigtime. I started playing in February on a Vizio. Lagged like crazy, but I didn’t really know. Lagged so much I thought you couldn’t react in the air to stuff a jump attack. Tried going out to play offline and absolutely nothing I learned worked. Then I got a Toshiba with game mode. Lot’s better, only 1-2 frames of lag. Still messed me up, though. Couldn’t understand why my combos only worked inside my own house. Finally ended up getting a laggless LG monitor to play on. Now it all feels the same.
I have a question about Shoryuken FADC Ultra 1.
I can Shoryuken FADC Ultra 1 100% of the time on a standing (neutral) opponent, but I’m not sure how to use it from anti-air. When I shoryuken on a standing opponent I can easily cancel out of it and go into U1. But when they are jumping-in and I shoryuken I can’t seem to cancel the shoryuken at all. Does it matter when I shoryuken my opponent? Should I time it to when they are falling down from their jump peak? Because I’ve tried pressing the focus attack right after I shoryuken just like I would on a neutral opponent and that does not work. I’ve tried pausing then focus attacking and my shoryuken still does not cancel.
What am I doing wrong?
Your dp has to be deep so it doesn’t trade. If it trades, obviously you can’t fadc it.
It’s hard to say unless we have video footage of how you’re SRK’ing jump ins. But the reason could be because you’re not landing a deep SRK. In vanilla you could FADC a late SRK into Ultra, but the SRK only does 70 damage instead of 160(for fierce). But in Super, only deep SRK’s can be canceled after the first hit. If you hit it late for 50 damage it’s impossible to FADC unless you’re using a EX SRK which can be canceled after the 2nd hit.
My DP was not trading.
I’m Fierce SRKing and the damage meter says 50, meaning only 1 hit, I still cannot FADC. I recently learned that whether or not FADCing an anti-air SRK is possible you can just jab.SRK into ultra 1 without having to FADC at all.
I guess SRK FADC U1 is only for grounded opponents who are hit by the SRK. If they are jumping-in at me I’ll just jab.SRK land U1 or j.MP land U1
thanks, but if you can find footage of someone using FADC against an opponent jumping-in that would be great. All I can find is people FADC into ultra 1 on a standing training dummy.
edit: what the hell is “SADC” is it FADC?
You cannot FADC if you’re off the ground, is what it seems like since you’re using hp.dp. If you’re only getting one hit, that means you’re getting the “air” part of your dp.
If you do an early lp.dp, yes you can U1 after it without having to FADC since you land and recover while your opponent is still way up in the air.
You can still use mp.dp FADC though if you hit it deep and only hit with the beginning part. I dunno why you need footage. If you do mp.dp and you get two hits, then you can definitely FADC into U1 off it.
SADC is a retards way of saying FADC. Apparently for them, SA (savings attack) = FA (focus attack).
This isn’t really necessary. Saving attack is the term arcade players used, before Capcom came up with Focus Attack for the western release.
You should not rely exclusively on jab. srk to land ultra vs a jump in. Its a good option when you have your opponent making an obvious jumpin near you.
mp. srk , FADC, U1 is very useful vs jump in from further away or when you dont have much reaction time. I must admit its harder than before but not that hard.
Just need to do a deep SRK.
oh ok this makes a lot more sense. I was told to always use HK.SRK for anti-air so I assumed it was the case for an anti-air SRK to FADC to U1. But now that I know mp.srk can be canceled it makes perfect sense.
HP.SRK FADC U1 is for ground
MP.SRK FADC U1 is for anti-air
LP.SRK U1 is for anti-air without needed the FADC, and possible to land a U1 off an air-trade
sweet, thank you very much
i found a (i think) pretty useful option select for punishing cammy’s whiffed cannon spikes. sometimes it’s hard to judge what side of you she’s going to fall on, so you can low fierce (hold fierce) xx qcb + roundhouse (let go of fierce). if she lands in front, you’ll low fierce xx tatsu; if she lands in back, you’ll low fierce xx hadou
HK.SRK? LK.SRK? What?
fixed it, I’m tired lol
