Would it work on a crouched opponent on counter hit?
Edit: From the mIRC, they suggest it would only link if the second hit of the overhead hits.
Confirmed, did it myself.
Does not work with no counter hit. So if you ever land a f+mp to SRK. It’ll still be a 2 hit combo as the first of the overhead won’t hit and it has to be a counter hit.
So basically, its possible, but… not at all practical.
this is the same conclusion i came to last night. I dont understand it. I know I did it before, but… tried it repeatedly last night and didnt happen. I guess the SRK doesnt hit a crouched opp’ on the first actuve frame.
Thanks, bro. And yeah, I do have a problem with sitting on meter, but I just really don’t like using it unless my hits are guaranteed. I guess I have to learn to take a gamble, but as for now, I usually only find myself throwing it out when I’m juggling the opponent or trying to make my wakeup SRKs safe.
A mixup I like if I’m sitting on meter without ultra is vs. characters with fireballs is hado fadc (through their fireball) sweep. I absolutely love this vs. characters like chun or guile where the knockdown is a big deal in the fight as without meter they don’t have many options to stop a jump in on wakeup.
Or something simple like cr.mk xx hado fadc cr.mp(or whatever poke is in range for you) xx tatsu, srk, or just finish with a sweep instead of a special. Its a good way to change the flow of a match in your favor if the other person is playing strong footsies and the untechable knockdown will give you momentum. I find its really good in coordination with option select jump in once you get that knockdown vs. characters like bison.
not sure if this is the right place to ask but i had a question about cross ups with ryu.
it seems like everytime i try to cross as they wake, if the character has ultra i get ultra’d on from their wake and it always hits me. does this mean i should just not try to cross up on the wake while they have an ultra meter? or am i doing it too late/early?
I’m not able to search threads for whatever reason, I just get a white page that says it’s done loading at the bottom. I’m on Ryu’s Hard Challenge 5, and it’s really bugging me I’m having a hard time uppercutting after the JHP,crMP,crHP <----is what i’m having problems with. The full combo reads jHP,crMP,crHP,ExTatsu,ExSRK,FocusCancel,Metsu, so is the crHP supposed to be executed like the poke crMK>Hadoken? basically saying 2HP,1,4HK+MK. Also is this timing or speed? I’m just really frustrated about this…
Hi Mobius, I would go 3hp etc, as it just guarentees that you do the whole motion for the tatsu, but basicly that sounds right. Just practice c. Hp to ex tatsu for a while (it’s really not too hard, and useful as a slightly scrubby punish - I’m an uber-scrub unfortunately), and once you’ve got that the rest should fall into place. It’s actually not the hardest trail- you’ve done the two tricky ones already. The hardest thing is doing it calmly rather than just trying to mash it all out! Good luck, you’ll do it within an hour or so, no problem.
3hp is refering to the direction right? downfoward hp? sorry for the n00b question. Thinking i probably should hit the sack i have to get up in about 4hr 3omin for another 8hr of work… kind of tired and frustrated I shouldn’t have pushed myself so hard with all the shopping after work then played cod, did some drumming, then played some sf4 champ mode…lol then went to trials at around 11pm est to 1am…lol just tired maybe i’ll give it a try when I’m fresh… I’ve noticed the Jhp should be executed late to an almost flam style crMP to crHK , I’ll try to incorporate the downforward or 3hp… Thanks for the info if you feel like adding anything else let me know… ALSO…wait what the heck is the timing on lpSRK to Metsu? I always end up having the ultra go over the players feet ultimately coming up too late…Thanks peace.
By lpSRK to Metsu are you talking about lp SRK as antiair? If so you’re just doing it too late- it should come out as soon as you touch the ground. Or maybe you mean something else. Also, 3 is df- I just used that terminology because you did… !?

i can’t seem to get the timing right for the c.lp c l.p c.mk. the c.mk seems to always miss (either too slow or too fast) anyone have any suggestions for this? sometimes i can do it 10x in a row in training mode then start whiffing them again.
Have you tried plinking it with lk? Might help… Otherwise it’s just timing, as you say. Do you end with tatsu? And why not c. Lp c lp c hp (plink mp) tatsu? Slightly less range I suppose. Hitting a combo with hp in it is just so darn satisfying…
i guess i’ve been using c.mk because it has a longer range than c.mp also comboing a tatsu/fireball is super easy off a c.mk it seems. sorry but what is i plinking?
