i dont main ryu, and don’t consider myself good enough to do so, but I don’t think his lpSRK -> ultra should go. If you are stupid enough to blindly jump at ryu, and get nailed by that, you deserve it. Same as Bison’s jMP -> Ultra (even though that is still harder to nail than Ryu’s setup).
SRK trading for Ryu and Sagat into their respective ultra’s has to get fixed though (I play Bison, and it’s sooo fucking gay to trade when I exHS and get nailed with an ultra afterwards)
I second that notion! Fake fireball and any kind of second ultra is good enough. Maybe a 9mm for when sh!t gets rough.

The things is that ryu has all the tools possible to defeat sagat I’ve seen a lot of people take sagat down fairly easily with ryu. Look at daigo and other really players. Look at what they do against sagat and pick up from there. I don’t mean to be a dick but it may just be that there are some holes in your game that need patchin.
I know sagat is a hard math up due to the fact that his links into ultra are simple and overall he’s a bit over powered. With ryu u have 4 - 5 (ex tetsu in corner, FADC srk, jump mp and focus attack) different ways to link his ultra. I say that’s enough.

So, the damage from the lp shoyu isn’t enough? You deserve to get damage, but you surely don’t deserve to lose about half your life from one little mistake like that. Plus, some times it’s not “blind jumps” that get shoryu’d, do you think people like Mago are blindly jumping on daigo when he gets shoryu’d? Plus it’s not costing Ryu anything at all to do it.
How is Bison’s ultra setup even close to comparable? It’s fair because it’s much, much harder to land.

Still… Ryu isnt as strong as everyone says!! Daigo didnt won Tougeki with Ryu…, and other Ryus doesn’t have that much fame :(. meaning he isnt that good! I should switch character, does Sakura can do better than Ryu?

Ryu is already a well rounded character. The only fix, as many have stated, is the ex tatsu glitch. THAT IS ALL
give ryu a fake fireball…not that he needs it but if he had it wud open up the possibility 4 alot of mindgames
main point daigo won evo with ryu. that is all.
give him zangief ultra, and the ability to juggle it from any normal, and also take 600 dmg no matter what.

I’m going on a limb here saying there’s nothing really wrong with Ryu. He’s very powerful and pretty balanced in my book.
The only thing I’d like to see is they fix how easy it is to do special moves. Perhaps even cut the buffer time down. That has nothing to do with Ryu though. I’ve blocked a jab, dp reversal, block string kept it from coming out, the next jab was blocked and the dp still came out or it sure felt like it. Definitely definitely delayed more than I wanted it to.
I wouldn’t mind seeing reversals a little harder to do but I get away with murder so much
