Do you guys think charge characters are viable in this game?

Certainly. Look at the way Vega has been used in some of the stream footage.
No one’s really trying the others which is why it’s hard to say with them. Some people are quite pessimistic about Guile but no one’s prepared to put the time in to test that yet.
I think when Mike Ross was addressing the stream monsters, he said that Guile and Balrog were kinda awkward and he couldn’t really see how they fit in the game at the moment.
All I’ve heard about Guile is how strong he’s supposed to be here. Mind you, they never bothered to explain *how *he was strong; just that he was strong. :\
Look at Dhalsim, zoning the hell out of people lol. Zoning is still in the game it’s just gonna be a little tough to do it consistently

To respond to some comments above: I think zoning will be in this game. It should be more effective than SF4, you’ll just have to accept that some matchups will not be zone-able. Think of Vega in ST, you could not pin him down with fireball traps. You’ll just have to be very smart with projectiles in this game, its not like ST where you could DOMINATE.
-No focus attacks.
-Fireball fake-outs.
-Stronger footsies will force more jumps out of characters, no focus attack to escape and keep them grounded.
But yeah, some characters will have to be beaten in other ways. Best thing to do is pair up a strong zoner with a stronger rushdown character.
Guile/Sagat/Juri with Rufus/Kazuya/Vega
And so forth.
