Rumours, speculations and theories

well im sort of late to the party -_-’ Jamp seems salty as fuck right now(hope you get over it) but after just reading that on siliconera i didn’t really feel too bad about it. I kinda felt the PS3/360 versions were finished when they said the game went gold awhile ago. however like other people may have mentioned already…this maybe the first expansion to SFxTK is the addition of those 12 characters. Now before everyone throws coke bottles at me can i say this…It mite turn out like SFIV to SSFIV without the need of purchasing another disk. In other words, We would have a substantial update in content by the time that update becomes available.

12 characters is already a big deal, they maybe loading out with more costume packs, gems, SuperArts maybe? and other additions to make the update worth wild. This is just a thought but like what happened to SFIV with Super and AE, it’s not hard to see this happening with SFxTK. I like to stay positive and I know its hard to do so…but I think about it like this, It gives me something to look forward to.

So… Will PC folks get all the characters too in the package since we had to wait a long time? Or does the pos (it is until homebrew is working on it, then we have ourselves a godly device like the PSP ended up to be) VITA get everything?

Kinda disappointing reading all this especially from the SF side since a few of them are pass me downs from SSF4. Would it hurt to make it check If you already own SSF4 and give you the characters, you know rewarding loyal (hah) fanbase thing?

What im thinking for these newcomers is that once at Captivate theyll announce 4 of the 12 new fighters(say Guy, Cody, Bryan, and Jack). then the next batch will be in may, and then the last would be revealed at E3.

As a price i say $8 for 4 fighters sound good??

I is steaming still, need more info, March 6th seems like it.

food for thought…

when AE was announced people was rather pissed, saying comments like " OMG 4 MORE CHARACTERS THAT WE CANT PLAY!" or similar comments targeted towards the Arcade version of the game. when light of the update coming to PS3/360, those comments died and just became a waiting game…2012 is a different story. I see this alot…“what about PC?” well aside from me absolutely hating PC gamers superiority towards anything that isn’t PC, i don’t have a problem with it, and they usually get screwed the worse. Think about it…

-Later release of SFIV…(they got pretty filters though)
-No Super update
-Late release of AE and still waiting on 2012 to my knowledge.

however i believe this…

SFxTK will walk a similar path to SFIV did, but get down to the point much faster.

-Initial PS3/360 launch is March 6 in the US…
-PC release is sometime in May…(they may get a bonus of some sort or exclusive content)
(DLC entitling, Costumes, Gems, Colors)
-PSVita release
-Announcement of Vita/“Super” Upgrade for Console versions.
-Upgrade to PC later down the road…

I doubt it. AE was what, 15-16 dollars for 4 characters??

Because it’s Capcom…

I’m pretty sure xbl doesn’t allow content for free over a certain file size. If they are on the disc maybe free, but if they intended to do that why not have them from the get go.

This time I don’t think the content is on the Disk at all…It doesn’t add up.

Some may be unlockable but I’m betting every last one of them is a wallet rapist.

Some of it has to be on the disk, as people keep saying ESRB only rates things on the disc, everything, including things that are locked away to be sold later.

ok…like with MVC3…Jill and Shuma’s Coding were on the disk. they were not completed characters. it mite just be there names and a few things as a place holder, people are saying its like SFIV’s Alt costumes…its just a unlock code.

thats what im saying…that doesn’t add up.

the Vita version may still be in development, and for what its worth the characters on that version maybe still getting worked on. On the Capcom Europe site said they would make their debut on the Vita, thats it, like Yun and Yang made their SFIV debut in Arcades…same “could” be said here.

Sony: Oh hai guys, we want the vita to not be completely shit like the 3DS and we’re willing to throw money at you if you add a little incentive for people buying your shitty fighting game port(s).
Capcom: Well we were planning to include these fan favorite characters into the games roster as a way to rehabilitate our reputation as a cash grab company. So OK we can do that.
Sony: You da best.

Depends, it could also be cameos and or cinematics with them.

An in any case, about them being on disc. Whether or not something is on disc or not is simply a matter of the method of delivery, especially considering that for this genre (fighting games) it’s important to let people who have not bought the DLC still be able to fighting those who did. This is also important when you consider that (as Tim Schafer has stated) it costs around $40,000 to have content patches content approved and that (as Mike Z himself has said) there’s a certain allowed ratio of free stuff to paid stuff that you can have folks download over XBL.

You’re right they made them 8$ and then made you do a bigger download and make it a pain in the ass to play online against people who didn’t have them.

MUCH BETTER!

I feel like Capcom doesn’t understand why people get angry about On-Disc DLC.
It’s like they looked at Jill and Shuma sales and thought "Clearly, the issue is that we waited a month after release date, let’s wait like six months this time"
I’d prefer to get fucked over now, rather than wait for it

And Sven’s comment on CapComunity is weird, is he saying we would get more info tomorrow, with the Vita launch? Or is he saying when the vita version is closer to launch?

Nah, I’m done. Luckily I’m pretty satisfied with the current roster, but I’m pretty bitter since some of my favorite characters got shafted from the console version, at least for a while.

Oh well, Poison / Nina here we go.

But they specifically said Lei was playable - a wobbly character uses drunken moves and yadda yadda - same goes for Alisa and her chainsaws.

Which is really, really weird considering the Vita shenanigans. I’ll remain pessimistic from now on, though.

The lamest thing is that if you’re a fan of those 12 characters and want to play them on a real system, you’re screwed until after the Vita game launches, if Capcom Europe is to be believed.

What does this mean for the actual DLC for the game? Half a year of free color packs and Cross Swap costumes, then real characters?
