shadowloo vs mishima corp with Bison and Juri vs Jin and Ling

Chun & Cammy vs Asuka and Lili is clearly Capcom putting together the pinup girls off both series. You can argue that Sak and karin makes more sense… well no it doesn’t since they aren’t in the game. If Sak and Karin were in the game and paired up with Leo and Christie you might have a point… otherwise no. They paired the leading ladies, the pinup girls together, they gave them a CGI trailer and 3 of them are used for a cosplay contest to launch this game in Japan.

To be honest? “Nina/Anna vs. Chun-Li/Cammy” would make so much more sense.

What Westlo says is rather valid…Chun Li and Cammy are about as relevant as Asuka and Lili in their respective plot lines…no really relevant at all. Personally out of interest i would have liked Nina’s rival to be Chun Li but im fine how they made Nina “more important” then Chun Li so i can live with that. Lili and Asuka have been pushed fucking hard since their debuts in Tekken 5 and Tekken 5 DR respectively. Comparing Anna to them now would like be comparing Juri and C.Viper to Karin. Dude… you think Tekken gives a fuck about Anna right now? She won’t make Tekken vs Street fighters roster but I can assure you that the first 3 females picked will be Nina, Asuka and Lili.
It’s a matchup of the pinup girls, or most popular females, whatever way is easier for to understand. pairing characters of the popularity of Asuka and Lili against Sakura and Karin… would be like I said earlier comparing Chris Paul (Asuka) and Blake Griffin (Lili) to Chris Bosh (Sakura) and Mario Chalmers (Karin)
What Capcom have done is paired up Paul and Blake against Lebron (Chun Li) and Wade (Cammy). That have matched the superstars together instead of matching them up by position, even though Chris Bosh/Sakura is still a near superstar…
well in Anna’s defense she was in Blood Vengeance with Xaioyu and Alisa…and Alisa was also in Tag2’s opening…I think it varies…Tekken just rotates their characters around more then SF does…and thats where this problem started.
Julia is generally a boring character but shes cool to play as, Jaycee imho is the best thing to happen to the character since her appearance in T3…but Julia is in SFxT(however Tag2 was in development at the same time as SFxT so it could be a potential reason in why Jaycee didn’t make it) be that as it may, Tekken has a decent roster of female characters, SF mainly whores out Chun Li and Cammy, and occasionally Sakura. It wasn’t until SFIV Viper and Juri came into the picture…
Honestly seeing two female character teams is nothing short of amazing…so thank god for that right?
Anna gets in that material solely due to Nina though period, when they cut Tekken’s roster in half to make Tekken x SF she’s gone and they’ll more likely focus on Nina vs Cammy, especially if it’s a 1v1 game and seeing how Tekken Tag 2 now has a 1 character option…
Also Alisa is currently getting pushed heavily after BR, she’s basically the newer Asuka/Lili so to say.

I’m sure they’re planned to be in eventually… did you know that Cammy and Sakura were planned to be in SFIV from the start? Can someone find that image of the original SFIV look with the roster which showed Cammy, Sak and the other console characters + Deejay and THawk?

yeah GamePro did a story about alot of the alpha and beta versions of vanilla SFIV, it was a good read. but yeah Dimps had did alot better with their female character models…I like Xiaoyu’s and Poison’s alot, they did a good job with them. plus the new textures they used for the skin looks much better then in SFIV.
I’d assume Alisa would have the same English voice actress she had in the movie.

Lei is a 5 form Kung-Fu master. Not a Drunken fist fighter. Sure, he has a Drunken Fist stance, but also has Snake, Crane, Tiger, etc…

True Nina is pretty much without a doubt the main female lead in the Tekken series, no doubt but her and Chun Li are not rivals in this game(they were in the announcement gameplay trailer). Sure, Chun and Cammy are trying to stop shadowloo and SIN, but really…your going to narc on Lili’s reason for being in the game(its the same reason as her DR story actually), but not get on chun li for ever getting close to defeating Bison >_>’ isn’t that abit bias.
For better or worse, I’d rather see Chun li Fight Asuka and put up a fight then her getting the shit kicked out of her by Juri…because they could have did that you know…mind you it was just her against Chun and Cammy in Supers opening.
I like to see interesting match ups and pairing, the current ones are not boring, and each side is being represented rather well, so I got no problem…you want them to follow the same repetitive match ups…
