Rumours, speculations and theories

Wouldn’t announcing DLC characters at launch be even worse than letting the idea sink in for a while?

MVC3 for example, I’m sure people were annoyed that Jill and Shuma were DLC from the start, but wouldn’t it be even worse if they announced that the day the game came out?

Not saying it isn’t impossible, but Capcom likes money and that doesn’t sound like a good way to make money, specially after all the hate UMvC3 got - which really hurt the game’s sales.

I’d like to be sure, ONLY Alisa uses chainsaws in Tekken right ?

Yes.

In terms of rival battles whats to say that Capcom will not pull ‘lol we cant think of story for u so fight ryu and ken’ BS

Who knows, maybe Lei’s mystery partner is Jun.

Well. Unless there is a hidden lumberjack character.

Did you see the Paul / Law character breakdown on Level Up Your Game? Law is EXTREMELY different from Fei. He has nothing resembling Rekka’s. He doesn’t have a reversal/antiair nearly as effective as flame kick. And I think he only has like 3 normals that resemble Feis. TBH I was actually surprised at HOW different they were.

That’s my guess. Weren’t they working together in the OVA?

You are correct, sir!

(Also, there’s that thing Ono said back in 2010)…

If Jun is in, I’d like to see the explanation of not only why she’s with Lei, but where the hell she’s been. She’s owed 15 years of child support from Kazuya and she needs to spank the devil gene out of Jin.

Isn’t she dead?

I thought Jun in TTT2 was just Unknown in Jun’s form. /shrug

Doesn’t matter. They can just use the “not alive/dead in this timeline” excuse and add her anyways.

In Tekken 2, the character select cursor starts on these two, and Jun is basically a cop as well according to her story. Only reasonable logic that you could make for those two being partners.

No, it’s just that Jun was always Unknown.

Yeah, apparently the whole “Jun is dead” thing was either retconned, or I completely misunderstood something back when I was all-in Tekken 3’s story.

(I’m going to bet I misunderstood something…)

Either way, IIRC Harada said recently that she was apparently “never dead”. I don’t know, I lose track of these damn stories, they keep retconning crap all the time.

This, one-thousand times this. I know [S]Capcom[/S] all companies can be [S]extremely[/S] fairly idiotic at times, but considering what they just went through with UMvC3, I can’t imagine they’d actually have the balls to wait until day one and say, “oh yeah btw… day 1 DLC!”

And besides, why do that when they could easily announce them beforehand as part of their special editions or something along those lines? If some of the characters simply had to be DLC due to time constraints or contracts or the sky falling, I’d assume they would have known long before the game went gold, and they would have been hyping up some sort of character DLC edition to buy in stores by this point.

Actually, I’m kinda’ surprised they actually didn’t have some sort of “Alisa exclusive to Gamestop Pre-orders!” promotion going.

As an aside, I was one of those “Shuma is DLC? WTF” people. :razzy:

EDIT: again not saying it isn’t possible of course! Just seems unlikely. And if it does then… well I’ll still be buying it. But my teeth will be clenched as I press that A button, dammit.

Jun was never truly dead. She’s just been missing for years for some reason.

I wish. I really want that character, and I preordered at GameStop. Win win.

Did you get the CE/SE/whatever? :o

Of course.

OP gems, here I come.

I ordered at Gamestop too  at least we get lots of cool stuff!

You knOW I’ve been wondering…what if the pre-order gems can be unlocked from the in-game Store?
