And then we have Christie, Leo, Lei, Alisa, Lars, Jack, Bryan, Blanka, Sakura, Karin, Guy, Cody, Elena and Dudley. So 18 characters. Close enough. Of course, not all of them will be in the game, but these characters are where the buzz is atm.

I think people are just playing that hope game again, trying to look too hard into stuff.
I can’t be bothered with it anymore so I’ll just wait till the game hits to find out and announcements.

People talk about Karin and Sakura as DLC all the time. Sure, there is no basis for it, but they still do it.
Basically they think that Blanka is going to get paired up with Dan rather than Sakura, leaving Sakura and Karin available as a possible team for DLC, due to their history.
Honestly I’d be cool with this if it happened, as it would give Karin fans what they want and it would give me my Dan. :3
The sad truth is that if Karin did become DLC, people would complain even more than they are now because they’ll say she should have been on the disc from the get-go.
Or it’s one of those off handed cases that it’s DLC done right and she was worked on after game release and added into the game to prolong longevity of the game’s lifespan rather than being locked on the disc from the get go and requires purchasing to ‘unlock’.
That shouldn’t make any difference. Do you really think NRS didn’t have the time to finish Rain/Skarlett/Kenshi? Heck no, they just held off on it because they knew it would be DLC later.
I think I’m going to write an article on this when I get back from River City Bowl today. Maybe I can get d3v to put it on SRK.

Do me a favor and don’t talk to me like that. KOFXIII is my main game right now so it’s not like I’m a Capcom homer who won’t play anything else.
I just don’t see how people can get up in arms about spending $5 on an extra character or two when I see guys spend $200 on an arcade stick or spend $40 on money matches. I figure whatever DLC I buy, on-disc or not, is going to last me a lot longer than whatever sandwich or protein shake I get which I then promptly forget about two days later.
Okay sorry, that was a bit awful on my behalf. But jeez can’t you at least see this is way too drawn out and getting to damn formulaic at this point?
You seem to always refer to the collective ‘people’ or ‘internet’ but most of the time it sounds like you’re referring to maybe 3 or 4 ignorant folks over at eventhubs or something. Simply put different people have different thoughts on how they choose to spend their money. They have different buying criteria’s and purchasing principles. I know there was a few guys that was happy to let SNK suckmore sap their money and yet I know 2 people in real life that said “screw this” and hoped KoF13 bombed and decided to vote with their wallets.
If you want to point something silly and ignorant isn’t there a scrubquotes thread hanging around for that or something?

Hmm, my memory of that had me understanding it as “there’s still a lot left to explore about the game” in terms of what people are going to figure out. But I don’t remember what the actual line or context was so I could be misremembering.
It was a big topic on the local stream last night here in the Richmond scene, and I had seen a lot of complaining about it here on SRK, so perhaps I’m overestimating how widespread of a belief this is. Nerves have been running high as this game inches closer to release wondering what the final roster is going to be.
Going back to the topic, if Lei is indeed in this game, do you think what Ono said about Jun way back in 2010 will play a factor as to being Lei’s partner?

Well aside from being a gamer; I am also into managing money. If it becomes the norm to lock things on main-disc and sell for a quick buck then i’m honestly all for it because hacking is OP and companies honestly believe that their consumers has the intellect of a 10-yr old.
There are people that puts down like 20 bucks for a MM at locals but could you honestly account one person to many? The most i’ve ever MM was like… 3 bucks and that was to win so I could go to Burger King.
