Rumor-Tekken vs Street Fighter

I just cant see the purpose of this game. It would be better having Tekken face VF or SF face MK or something along those lines. I mean, SF is COMPLETELY different to Tekken, its like saying they will do K.O.F vs Soul Calibur next… just wouldnt work.

Im sorry man. My bad…

Exactly. It won’t work. So they make the Street Fighter characters play as if they were Tekken characters.

Basically it would be Tekken 7 but with the new characters being Street Fighter characters (even if they play nothing like they do in Street Fighter).

And KoF vs Soul Calibur is a dumb rebuttal and nothing like what is happening here.

It was just an example, and a justified one if you think about it. On another note, I dont think a game with projectile characters should be made 3D. This is why SF didnt work in 3D and neither did MK. Sidestep is the end of 3D fireballs im afraid…

For some reason i can see this game playing like a super refined version of kof maximum impact 2

If the SF characters played nothing like they do in Street Fighter, then what’s the point of the crossover? Why should Ryu be there if he doesn’t have a hadoken, or Ken if he doesn’t have a flame shoryu? That’s your inner Tekken fanboy talking buddy.

And before you use the “crossover characters don’t always play like they do from their origin games” argument, I will say that those characters still tend to replicate most of their origin moves and those move’s function(s). What you’re suggesting is a complete overhaul of all the SF characters in order to rebuild them from the ground up to fit into a Tekken game. That defeats the purpose of a crossover. Better for Namco to just make new characters that resemble some SF character. That’s more practical then what you’re suggesting.

If you want to see Tekken crossover with a 2.5D fighter, try the KOF:MI series. Enough combo strings for the KOF roster to compete and enough metrosexual designs to fit right into the Tekken universe.

The Street Fighter characters are some of the most well known in fighting games. Tekken is arguably the most advanced fighting games around (I personally prefer SSFIV but I do recognise Tekken 6 as the better game).

A new guy that looks like Ryu with a different name isn’t that big of a selling point. Actually using Ryu would be.

It seems that people can’t seperate a Street Fighter character into a fictional character and a gameplay character. Tekken vs Street Fighter would take the fictional characters from the SF games but not the gameplay characters (obviously this is all assumption based on nothing). Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile would still be the fictional characters they always were, just with a completely different gameplay. Yet the attacks would remain familar.

I’ve been playing Street Fighter games since World Warriors. But even SSFIV isn’t that far advanced from that. SSFIV Ryu still plays like SFII:TWW Ryu just with more attacks. Giving familar characters we all know and love a completely different gameplay style would be interesting to me. But again this is all assumption. It may not even be a fighting game; could just be a card game or RPG or something. We’ll see.

They can dumb down mechanics of both games to Samurai Shodown Sen engine level, so that all projectiles become close-ranged juggle starters, all jumps become low tekken-ish, and everyone can juggle combo each other

Not sure about Tekken vs SF, however

Tekken vs Naruto confirmed.

But here’s the thing: Ryu’s “gameplay” is apart of his design. No matter how many new moves he’s gain/lost, he’s always had a fireball, dp, and a hurricane kick. Removing any of those moves would damage his character design. The same applies to just about every other SF character, especially the originally 12 world warriors. It wasn’t just their designs that made them legendary and memorable, it was also their movesets. Take one away, and you take away what made them so special.

they should do SF vs Dragonball Z

Capcom vs Shonen Jump would be pretty gdlk.

I’m holding out for Virtua Fighter vs. Smash Brothers…

Survival Arts vs Tattoo Assassins

I made that this morning. 2 turds collided in the toilet when I flushed.

I read the title of this thread as “Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter” and was momentarily excited.

I bet it played like shit.

Can’t we close this since we all know it’s Naruto Ninja Storm 2 with Lars as a playable character? :arazz:

hell yea, luffy vs sim, goku vs akuma, or tenten vs ibuki. j/k bout the last one… or maybe not.

Yeah…boy, did it ever stink.
