I tested it on Ryu by recording Rufus to do a low dive kick to st.LK (from the starting position in training mode) then trying to jump after blocking the dive kick. What happened was Ryu kept blocking even though I held up. I guess that means it can be a true block string. Trying to achieve this in a real match is obviously going to be a lot more difficult, though.
If it helps, you could try doing a slightly delayed crouch tech so if they mash a reversal you’ll block it and if they mash throw you’ll tech it.
It can be a true block string, but only if its blocked below the knees, although, that can be hard to do in a real match. If it’s blocked on the head, any normal move from Rufus can be stand thrown or counter hit with a 3 or 4 frame normal by the opponent.
The best thing to do if the dive kick is blocked on the head against characters with 3frame jabs that can be linked into big damage or a knockdown (e.g ken,ryu,akuma,cammy) is just to block and delay crouch tech.
hello, i’m collecting kara throw data for all of AE 2012’s characters, i don’t know how much of the information here is outdated, so i wanted to ask: what’s rufus’s best kara throw?
all of the data will be compiled into a list including normal throw ranges, added ranges and kara throw ranges.
He doesn’t have a kara throw unfortunately. Maybe we should ask for one in the update! 
not even a kara throw that adds one pixel? a crouching normal kara throw?
No I checked this out a while ago and his st.hp and hk both move him backwards which is dumb. It’s not like he needs a kara throw but still that’s pretty funny.

hp is a good antiair vs guy (even if they flip or cancel jump with elbow)
dont wake up with ex messiah he have a lot of safe jumps.
his stmp stolen from dhalsim is a good frametrap and they gonna spam it so dont press buttoms at that range
they can tech with mp so always try dive in their back if they are crouched.
they never block in wake up cuz seems like best option is always ex hurricane kick or backdash, so try OS with sweep if they abuse backdash so they will panic and u can bait their perma ex hurricane kick lol
guys players stress me a lot, and i hate that char.

A quick youtube search suggests there isn’t a video that covers everything but there could be, it just might be under a strange title or something. A master setup video would take a lot of work though so I doubt it. That okizeme video is good, tbh I just picked stuff up as I went along as well as from other people on these forums and others.
I would also appreciate it! I do pretty good against the majority of Guy players I face who mainly just demon flip which I am happy to st.hp repeatedly, but then one or two who really know how to apply safe run-stop pressure just mess me up

I recently saw a high level Rufus player do ex messiah, FADC, fierce snake strike, U1 in the corner. I believe it was against a Ken player. Does this work on everyone or is it character specific?
i think it just worked on honda and maybe barlog (cuz ex snake hit him after fadc ex messih but not sure about u1)

HP is not a good anti air against Guy’s elbow (not the Bushin Flip), use c.MP instead if you can. Guy’s elbow is a pain in this matchup. Don’t try to j.HK it either, won’t work. Rufus best A2A against it is j.MP.
