Wait a sec what’s this talk about dictator buffs? I already hate the ruf-dic match up. What’d they do buff his HK and give him an srk or something?
Yeah, that big ass health and damage output advantage for Rufus must make the match really hard. Plus his 100x easy mode combos into ultra.
Cry me a river.
Relax hotshot, at least answer the question if you’re gonna flame. Seems like the tears are coming out of your eyes and not mine anyway.
Back to topic, what were those buffs that help bison’s matchup against Rufus again?
i can’t really make out most of what you’re saying. But i’m sure Rufus just has to play the matchup similarly to Gief in vanilla. run away and…run…away
they made his cr.lks link better.
Bitter much? The match is already commonly regarded as a 5/5 one.
By and by, I’m hoping that you’ve at least tried my advice on the Chun-li/Rufus match up. It helps. A lot. Trust me.
I’m still hoping for an answer from DJ on this. Not being sarcastic. Just really curious.
confirmed so far are c.lk being easier and his Ultra2 being a fairly safe, very quick headstomp type move that uses a QCFx2 motion and heaves a lot like Fuerte’s U1 only it’s not a throw (so it’s blockable). This is more of a fireball punish but it might be useful as an AA against a dive kick happy Rufus. The main buff in this matchup is going to be if the rumors about s.HK being faster are true. Nobody has confirmed this so take it with a grain of salt but apparently the frame data was buffed and the hitbox supposedly is slightly better. Nobody has seen this in action so I wouldn’t count on it.
There are also people saying that based on the iPhone version his Psycho Crusher is actually not completely useless outside the EX version and his Skull Diver follow up to the HS might be able to cross up. Since the app was made by a different team and probably wasn’t really based on SSF4 I seriously seriously doubt that part of it.
Basically, if the buffs end up going in the direction I think they’re going Bison might be a bit better at keeping Rufus out but once Rufus gets in Bison is still SOL. It’ll probably be a clear 6-4 for bison.
Id’ really like to see that belly button hair shaved off, it makes me feel a bit sick.
Jesus…I play Dictator and even I consider an improvement to his st.RH to be a bit much.
Wow.
Like I said, it’s a rumor and not a very plausible one. IDK why they would bother to fix that one move but not do anything about some of Bison’s lesser normals (like c.FP)… I’ll believe it when I see it.
i wonder what ever happend to the ultra and super cancel breaks that were rumored with the list? My guess is they planned on it and decided F it lets focus on Juri.
I always wondered how in the heck those were supposed to work…especially the super cancel…it not like you will have meter to spend after activating the move…
Maybe that was bogus, but darn near everything else on the list came true…
could have been like the CVS2 C groove ability to cancel your supers? IDK… maybe.
Far s.HK > Ultra 2 works

Doesn’t look like he took any health nerfs, but it’s hard to tell since DeeJay is new and I’m not used to seeing his damage output.
No.You answered perfectly to what i’m saying.
T. Hawk looks like he has a lot more mobility than Gief, so, it’ll be even tougher i’d imagine for Rufus. Keeping Gief out isn’t too bad, but keeping t.hawk out as he’s flying around the screen seems like a chore.
I’m not so sure. A lot of hawk’s moves are really unsafe. This isn’t like HDR where he can spam the dive and there’s not much anyone can do about it. It’s going to come down to how good his dp is. Hawk has a lot of health so he might just be able to outlive and out damage Rufus.
Hawk’s grabs also don’t seem to do as much damage as Gief’s so there’s that.
Condor dive is going to be a pain in the ass though - I wonder if we can catch it with snake strike or even better EX snake strike.

Honestly the thing that makes Gief scary to me as a Rufus player is his lariat (shuts down all of Ruf’s close range options, forcing you to dance out of it’s range) and Gief’s brutal 50/50 after a knockdown. I’ll be curious if Hawk has stuff similar to that.
With Sagat and Ryu nerfs and DP nerfs across the board I think Rufus will be in good shape for SSF4.
