So about two months ago, there was this turtle stuck in a fence. I never got out to save him because it was on someone else’s property and I figured they would save him. Well, a few days after I THOUGHT someone would save him, I drove by their house again and he was still in the fence, dead. His little head was extended out of his shell and resting on the dusty scorched earth.
Well, I went off to college a few days after that I and I said to myself “I’ll honor my little buddy by taking his shell but first I’ll let the bugs and other creatures eat his flesh out of the shell so I don’t have to mess with it lolz”. And with that, tended to my studies at college and NOW, I came back home after a few months to find the turtle shell, or what’s left of it.
Apparently, something cracked the top open to eat what was left of him.
So I figured I’d restore this shell with some improvision and…wear it…at possibly FR11. Like on my back. I had also planned to wear my Q costume again. So I’d have my Q outfit and a turtle shell on my back Master Roshi style. Would this be a problem? I don’t think I’m crazy but who WOULDN’T take a turtle shell after they found it. Just figured I’d see what people thought. At best most I could do that but I might come to my senses and just restore it and hang onto it.
This is a healthy response to what I’ve proposed. Heatlthy and normal. I could sure go for some of that.
Anyway, if you couldn’t tell from the pictures, some of the pieces are missing. Being the art major that I am, I plan to mold some pieces out of clay and then fire them in a kiln. Those pieces will be just as rock hard as the rest of the shell. Then, some liquid nails to hold everything together and then after that, not sure if I should paint it a particular color. Some of the top layer which kind of like vinyl has peeled off. The rest that’s actually still on the shell, I’ll just put some adhesive under it and stick it back to the main shell.
I’d actually have more luck selling my brain to a museum as something is seriously wrong with me…as you’ll clearly be able to pick out in the post below
My turtle shell is finished and I’ll have a camera to take pictures of it Sunday. Was torn on what color to paint it. I took the Mario Bros. approach: bottom yellow, top green with a white rim on the outside of the shell.
I didn’t do the white webbing on top of the shell yet. Might take it to the spray booth tomorrow and do that. Was torn if it should be green or blue shell but in the end I figure everyone’s mind always goes to green when they think of a turtle shell and not some fruity color. The blue was going to be symbolic of my future 3S skills and possibly SF4 skills should Q actually be in that one as well.
Everyone who’s played Mario Kart knows the blue shell targets the #1 and destroys anyone else who gets in the way on the way there. Meh, so put 2 and 2 together and you get where I was going with painting it blue. Actually as I type this, that blue idea sounds kind of neat…might go buy some blue paint.
Anyway, once the final color is decided upon, I figured “Hey, people already think you’re weird, let’s just keep compounding those assumptions!”. So my little good luck charm here is going to sit in a corner of my room months on end until it’s time to go to my next tourney. Yeah that’s right, you read right: I’m sitting my turtle shell in a corner in hopes that it’ll absorb some mystical energy from said corner into the shell, in turn giving ME that power because eveyrone who has played me knows I’m a corner queen.
Pics on Sunday of Green/Blue shell!

He’s a pet that will probably outlive me seeing as he’s about the size of a baseball. And what does Space T-Rex think of America’s Best Q Player’s schemin’?!
