I spoke with Round1 yesterday, but really Suiken, someone needs to fix DDRX2.
What’s currently wrong:
- 2P pad is wired to the 2P machine buttons. This makes the game unplayable if the first steps to a song happen to be Left or Right arrows because the scrolling speed changes and it’s as far as I could tell it actually isn’t possible to hit the first step then.
- Both 1P and 2P Down arrows are pretty much perma-stuck (panel is lit up with no one pressing it). Screw adjusting and/or sensor adjusting is needed.
- Apparently 1P Right is also in great need of adjusting. Last I knew, the 1P Right sensor that’s closest to the middle of the pad was dead, but I couldn’t try it yesterday because management put up a sign that said 1P right side was out of order, so I only tried one game on 2P side before giving up on my first song (speed mod was changed, song was unreadable). Later Saturday, the 1P Right arrow also became perma-stuck.
As a result of me pointing out these 3 things, they turned off DDRX2’s swiper (since the game is unplayable anyway). But Round1 really needs to fix the game, leaving it unplayable isn’t doing you or your visitors any good…
Here’s to hoping MvC3 sees a miraculous arcade release so that Round 1 can get some cabs running with it.
I’ve done all I can in ordering the parts necessary to get it up to 100%, we didn’t expect people to play it on a constant basis so parts broke down much sooner then expected. I’ve been getting some very frustrated complaints on this matter, but mouthing off to my employees demanding action will get you no where. (not saying you yindesu) It’s the same for the DJ Tecknika, the headphone jack is broken, not just one but both of the jacks, parts have been ordered for that as well.
I’ve only ever talked to the Asian lady (sorry, don’t know her name) about DDRX2 that I can remember in the past month. (I didn’t talk to anyone about DDRX2 last week, more on that in 2 paragraphs).
I do know some angry Asian mom was yelling at a Round1 employee about DDR SuperNOVA2 on Saturday night, but that mom was rude anyway, walked between me and the screen when I was playing Pump PRO 2 and her son/younger friend/whatever acquaintance kept flashing a camera flash bulb at my face while I was playing too. (No, he wasn’t taking any pictures because the flash bulb wasn’t connected to his fat camera, he was talking with the mom.) I hope to never see them again…
I don’t mean to cause you guys any frustration, the reason I didn’t talk to anyone about DDRX2 for two weeks was that I’d heard from PHN!X that you had already ordered new contacts or whatever, so I didn’t see the need for me to try flagging down anyone last week. The only reason I said something Saturday was because management had already put a sign on the machine saying “left side out of order” before 10am Saturday, so I needed to point out that the right side is pretty much out of order too… and I do appreciate that Round1 is on top of ordering new parts when needed. (I already learned Saturday that the headphone jacks will get repaired soon.)

hey suiken when you get a chance I need to talk to you about a problem I had with a security guard tonight…want to talk to you before management bro 
yea it was weird there was this older security guard standing across from the cashiers who like stopped these kids from walking towards the exit presumably and was like “where do you think YOU’RE going” like uhhhh haha. kinda weird. i didnt hear the full conversation but yea.
yup…I saw him harassing other people too…old guy with a white mustache. He had me stand out in the rain because I didn’t have an ID…I have a full beard and am 28 lol. Then I watched this 12 year old kid come up…and he let him in and shot me a look and smirked while I stood there wet in the rain. So after seeing the kid go in, I went up and asked if he could at least tell my party that I wasn’t allowed in, and that I was waiting outside. He said to get off his property and threatened me physically and with profanity. To everyone that knows me, I’m pretty non confrontational but I took a lot of offense to this.
I sat in the rain until my homey came out for another cigarette, he asked the security guard why he had me standing in the rain. We left and am not sure we’ll be coming back 
Wrote an email to management…if I get some sort of apology it will be cool. But the whole thing was really uncalled for. (and pretty hilarious when you think about it)
the whole thing started too because I went outside with two friends while they smoked…I had already been in the arcade for at least an hour. When we were going back in…this security guy said he recognized my two friends…but not me. He then singled me out and started harassing me…while little kids with their moms laughed at me. The little kids were allowed to go in and have the time of their life…and I am probably going to get a cold after being soaked to the bone

So 3 Hispanic teenage fun guys stole my keys, USB drive (only had Pump game data on it), and my Technika 2 Gold Note card. So, if anyone sees OUWI-POE1-ZYUV-X31B-CEAN floating around… please contact me, because I want that card back even though it’s now deactivated.
(And if you see my bike key or a random dark yellow key, turn it in to lost and found and they’ll probably call me…)
edit: this marks the 2nd flash drive i’ve “lost” at round1 in less than three months. (i’m now having suspicions that the reason i thought i forgot my first flash drive is that it was actually already stolen and I didn’t realize it.) Since I’ve now concluded the machines are not safe shelves for my items, I’m no longer putting any real cards in the Technika card line, and I’m no longer leaving my USB on the Pump machines. 3x5 index cards or bust.
I hope the cabs of ssf4 drop down to 25 cents… i can’t see myself going there to play now that Alex’s arcade has it down to a quarter… if they were the same price i’d pick round one just cause it’s beautiful inside.
Alex’s Arcade is 50 cents per play and the price is not going down any time soon.
The next time you want to complain about $.50 per play you should think about the hawaii players, who were paying $1.50 per play for vanilla when I went down there 2 years ago. (They didn’t even complain)
