Rose, GG's Thread!

ggs to Luffy086. Way to keep the pressure. I got owned, but it was a good learning experience

oh, yeah ggs ridim. young rose :). let’s replay later on!

purifyweirdsoul,
Nice to meet you the second day of NEC. I saw the first couple rounds of you vs. Rugi’s Akuma. I couldn’t watch the whole thing, I was being called for another game. I ended up playing cajunstrike after I lost to aquasilk. I used el fuerte and bison against his sagat though. I played him in teams as rose and didn’t do well. too bad we couldn’t get some matches in. NEC was kinda crazy, we need a bigger place next year.

Keep rockin’ that saturn pad

Oh that was Rugi? No wonder he seemed to kinda know what he was doing

NEC was kinda disappointing, the old venue was much better. Every major needs something like Evo or Final Round, -one- large ballroom where everything is going on together with some kind of schedule. Even with the megaphones they had, you couldn’t hear jack. I was in the tournament room all day on Saturday, but I didn’t hear them call for Guilty Gear or Melty Blood signups, two games I went to play there. I was disqualified for not being around for Melty teams, Cajunstrike’s team was DQ’d for SF4, my friends were DQ’d from Tekken…lol. It was so tight, loud and random in there.

hey guys… I’m a gief player (3500BP)
I just started playing with Rose few days ago and I’m having a tough time against players I can easily beat with my 2nds/3rds.
Need some guidance.
Please add me on PSN. I’m on the westcoast.

I defeated SCOTLAND_GOD yesterday in the first match with Rose vs Viper. I was so proud
Too bad he won the other 3 and totally demolished me in the last one with Dhalsim. Shows me that I have to learn. But still… one match taken by surprise

GGs nacor, always fun to fight a Rose ^^

GGs Luffy!! awesome Rose, the best one i have ever faced :pray:

you have the execution of a surgeon, no links failed, great spacing…

thanks for the good time (and the beating!)

BTW, i had a lot of problems to scape from your corner tick throw pressure. I was mashing tech/LK option select, but it didnt work… am i missing something??

thanks for your time again mate

Yeah, mashing doesnt work lol, u better time your tech ^^,

Just got a PS3 and wanted to get some games in with some of yall. FR please.

True, if you option-select tech before the throw you will be in startup of a C LK, which always loses to throws if throw is done in the next 2-frames. I think this is what happens to me a lot… since then I started waiting for a tech until the throw should have actually started, and if I can do that, I always tech succesfully.

If you counter-throw (standing tech) you might also whiff your throw if the opponent is still out of range, it can be a matter of inches.

If you think about it there is no use iun mashing anyway, either a C LK comes out or a tech, and both are multiple-frame animations that are bloked anyway when started. So one tech-attempt is more than enough.
Perhaps people mash because they dont know when they will exit stun-state? Either way, you are giving away a gap of easily least 2-frames when mashing out of blockstun.

true, i usually mash tech after the meaty LK, but it seems im doing completely wrong, and i have to train those wake up techs timing to be way more precise…

unfortunately i suspect my LCD monitor adds a lot of lag to the game, im having similar problems when playing Bayonetta :arazz:

Good Games, IamthatIam ( Gouken player). You have a really solid Gouken. Not to take anything away from your play, but I really don’t play SF4. I keep falling for stupid mistakes like the jump in throw and the Fireball Demon Flip Kick after FB.

Good stuff man, but since I have been play HDR for the past two months I would say that I am NOT a good marker to judge the Rose/Gouken match up. This game just doesn’t make sense to me, lol…

Hope you find a better Rose player here to challenge you…

I’ve played Kail here and he’s very good, he got me bad. I’d love to play him again or anyone else here for that matter. Rose vs. Rose is randomly tough isn’t it?

It’s a pretty explosive match. Neither Rose wants to feed the other meter, but at the same time, neither wants to stay in each other’s face. Lots of footsie, lots of running away, and guessing. Like a focus will beat slide, but Spiral, as an alternative approach, will beat focus. But spiral doesn’t beat slide, or various other well timed normals.

I have difficulty with cross-ups. I just can’t seem to land them, but I expect to, more than reacting to if it hit, so I get thrown a lot

Applying pressure while maintaining frame advantage is probably the best method of dealing damage. But throwing is more necessary and common, so teching is of high priority also.

It’s weird, but I’m starting to like it.

GG’s to Roogle. I had fun even though i lost horribly alot of close games but you managed to come out on top for almost all of them. With some more practice on execution and some smarter move choices on my part I should put up a better fight next time.

I don’t have live anymore. But you can add me on PSN.

Definitely good games. Keep in mind that we have a lot of distance between us – Colorado here – so the connection wasn’t as good as someone next door, obviously. The ideas that both of us used were sound and we’d probably have more of a back and forth if we were playing live.

ggs to MariaCroft and nacor cb ! thanks for the game, has been a very long time i didnt do rose mirror… and now i got to fight 2 in the same day!!

GGs Luffy! as always, your awesome wake up pressure game and tight execution destroyed me. Sorry for leaving so soon, my girlfriend demanded attention :stuck_out_tongue:

i have not improved anything lately with Rose because im messing around with other chars, but playing with you is always a great lesson!
