First off, GG’s too Rukuss and I7…sorry for my attitude of late. You guys were jsut trying to help a brotha out.
I think I just have to admit that i have reached my top most level in this game. I am not getting any better and I seem NOT to be able to learn from my matches.
I love playing Rose ( tho I am still not a big fan of the game) and she is about the only character I want to play in the game. She requires a bit of reaction speed, knowldge of the other fighters and execution…
NONE of which I have in depth.
But thanks to all who have given advice and time (and fights).
I am still going to try and get better, but for the most part I think I am “done”…
Keep in mind dude. No rose is ever that bad. To get better at the game I find that you gotta ave an understanding that comes from a lot of matches. I hit 16000 in championship mode. I’m just starting now to get one frame links in matches. I’m just starting to Lear. To control distances with my drill and when to use which drill.
I’m just getting spacing, and frame trapping. I’m just getting dashing. Dashing!
It’s a work in progress. Pick a secondary. Play around with them. Never underestimate the knowledge you gain NOT playing as rose

Rodnum you gotta be patience, you can’t expect to be the next high level player right off the back. It took me months to get to the level my Rose is at now. There is still things I need to improve on such as my consistency, because my Rose can be sloppy as hell and mindless sometimes. I still lose to shenanigans at times even though I know how to deal with them, it just that I don’t be focusing/thinking at times like I should always be during. Just have some more patience man, you improved a reasonable amount since the last time with played the session before. As long as you stay dedicated and don’t give up, you’ll get there.
GG last night Rose/filipin0man. When you EX reflected my spark to end the first round, I laughed out loud. Somehow that’s the first time I’ve seen EX spark reflected, and that shit is FAST. Wasn’t expecting that at all. Your Rose definitely reminded me how much I need to improve.

I’ve played a lot of zoners that I gave into fireball wars. I’ve gotten use to looking for ex fireballs. Sagat and guile excluded, however how great it felt reflecting guilds ex boom ftw! Ha!
GG’s Rose, I was actually doing stupid shit, I was having some unfortunate family problems and my stress level mixed with emotions on SFIV was the worst.
You got better, though. Good stuff, until we meet again.
GGs to Maria Croft, even through the game was somewhat marred by lag the matches were pretty good. I can tell you have a good rose. Unfortunately for both of us our execution and timing was off thanks to the 2 bar connection :tdown:
Even though it was 3-1 to me it probably would have been different had we been able to play offline or on a better connection.
GGs to you too, you really locked me down a few times with your slide, and yeah, such a shame that we couldn’t play more matches because of the lag, it takes the fun out. Still thanks for the matches!
It’s more of a trap what I was doing. It’s one of the things in my bag of tricks. I slide in and hit with the tip, and on either block or hit I have advantage. All you can do is block or back dash if you don’t have ultra/super. I was counting on you trying to counter attack but you didn’t so I just repeated the trap until you were backed into the corner. You also fell for my ultra bait in the last match twice (well the least time you tried to ultra but instead EX ST came out instead…lol)

I was really impressed by your use of EX spiral to counter my EX spiral that ended my combo string. You did it to me on a few occasions. But I noticed you were only able to do it on the strings you were able to block. Very interesting that you can counter her EX spiral with another. I also liked your reflect trap to ultra set up. I used to use it but it was only good for Rose mirror matches and as a result I’ve all but forgotten about it. Right when I reflected and saw you dash I was like “oh that was a bad idea…”…lol.
You sniffed out the majority of my shenanigans with Rose and countered perfectly. I’m very impressed :tup: The matches were close a good amount of the time, but you always seemed to put it together when it counted and as a result you pulled out the wins. I only managed to win 1 out of 10 matches :tdown:
…you can tell me…you were scarred when I accidentally picked Dan weren’t you? I saw it in Rose’s eyes…she didn’t want any of that…:bgrin:

I actually did EX ST in the first match, but instead I got Ultra, and in the last match where I did Ultra I got EX ST instead lol :looney:

You got a nice Rose, you were killing me the most with Rose. I don’t think i’ve ever played anyone that was good with Rose at all so it was a tough matchup for me. Wow @ st.HP as an AA. Your execution was pretty solid, I think i saw you miss no more than 5 combos between all of our matches. Once I learned some of your techniques it became a little bit easier. I also use Rose as you saw but I guess im just not good enough with her yet. Almost all of the combos and techniques that you used I had hardly ever seen before.
I really need to get my stick so I can better my Rose and Dan. Combos are waay to hard to do on a cramped controller. Gief can get along without a stick due to the simplicity of his combos and the fact that he is more of a directional based character.
The funny thing about it is, I see all this stuff about Rose dying to Gief. Although, even my Rose combined with backpedal tactics is even enough to beat most of the Giefs I play. She is 100% my Gief counterpick. If Rose can combo and remember to backdash on wakeup I think Rose actually has the advantage over Gief. (I know popular thought doesn’t think so)
We gotta get some more games in. I was tired and impatient anyways, I had to be at work in 4 hours (which is where I am now). You were murdering with that nj.mk combo, I was walking into it over and over.

Wanna test if rose has the advantage? Let gief get a kd. If he knows what he’s doing you may not hit him again. Ha.

I’m not a Gief player, but I know for a fact he has trouble with even my gief.

Yea I understand that, whenever I’d win thats what I was doing. I was more so playing casual though and trying things. I have NEVER played any Roses that were worth anything so I am not really sure what I can and cant do. I could have just been splashing all day and cr.shorting but I wanted to learn something from the matchup.
Its not like he was beating me 10-0 or anything, I got my fair share of wins but he does a pretty good job and keeping Gief out and is a pretty smart player. His runaway game is not that bad, im used to just running up on some crappy roses and destroying them. He had some cool mixups into ultra that I got hit by mabey the first 3 times but then I learned and countered them everytime after that. He always used the proper moves to stuff my lairat attempts and would always pull off a knock down combo.
