I agree with a lot you have to say .Guy. I’ve only been playing RR for a week or so but I’ve been playing him in my head for a while now, and I do agree with second being his best spot perhaps. The low health is really scary. if he gets touched he’s dead. hes not like tron in that if she gets hit, the opponent will have to use a lot of meter and shell build you meter as she dies. RR will just die and leave you with 2 characters and not much meter advantage.
Also, if you put him on point you miss out on his awesome assists + trap safe dhc. I like what you said about dhcing to RR and just being hard to catch while your teammates heal and you fish for that one hit. I’m stubborn in that I want my point to have at least 900,000 health, so it at least takes my opponent a combo + super + dhc to kill, otherwise your point was a waste.
Beam Assist is awesome, but really an assist to set up resets is amazing. My personal favorite is spencer’s slant shot, as after most combos (including boulder loop), can end with that into an unblockable situation.
I dunno…I might’ve been a bit selfish about how RR can be played. I just think to play him any other way but second and being a tiny little distraction is inevitable suicide. He just isn’t made to keep up with people for that long before they finally get their legs since RR CANNOT kill most of the cast in one combo.
I’ll admit though. His mobility is probably top tier worthy. But other than that he doesn’t excel at anything but moving around.
I can get to a million damage with 3 bars, with spencer behind him, without boulder loop. Or kill just about any medium health character in 2 basic combos. And honestly, RR can set up unblockables everywhere after any combo. Second is still his strongest spot, don’t get me wrong, but with the right assists backing him, he can be really scary on point.
3 bars on RR only? D: I would just find a way to get someone else in there and do more. I try to save at least 1 bar for a spring trap or Arthur power up.
Well, I just hit em with R&R, DHC to bionic maneuvers, then pick em up with TK h grapple, zig zag bionic maneuvers. (can’t use log trap during the combo). I play somewhat campy, so usually by the time i hit em’ 2 is more than enough.
