is it possible to attach real electronic drum kits through rock via midi? Kinda don’t want to buy one of their drum machines when I already have my own electronic kit…
I think in Rock Band 3 you could but I’m not sure.
Keep in mind that a LOT of songs have been pulled off the PSN/Live marketplaces over the last year or so. A lot of the old songs they had in there (ones that were DLC when RB1 was the game everyone was into) have been pulled. Most of the license agreements MTV Games got with the different labels/bands were for X years (usually six) so a bit of the DLC has been pulled, so don’t expect a lot of the big 70s/80s bands they had in there early on to still have DLC available (I know you can’t get Metallica stuff anymore).
That said, there is still a ridiculous amount of content out there.
TWO A YEAR?!?!
From 2008-2009 they put out…
GH World Tour
GH5
GH Aerosmith
GH Metallica
GH Van Halen
GH Smash Hits
Band Hero
DJ Hero
GH On Tour 1/2/3
GH killed the entire genre by milking the series in a way we had never seen previously in video games. Felt a little bit bad for Harmonix for getting dragged down by them.
I’m gonna have to get an XB1 for this… Rock Band was my shit. I just hope Harmonix doesn’t produce another broken Overdrive (like Star Power in GH) engine. I would grind for hours to get high scores and it eventually became pointless once the pause exploit was discovered.
I’ll be happy if it’s very reminiscent of RB2. That one was the best of the bunch.
RB2 and GH2 will always be my favorites. RB2 especially, that song list was absolutely amazing. I am looking forward to this though, it’s been such a long time since I’ve played GH/RB and I’ve been getting back into rhythm games.
They sold midi adapters specifically for Rock Band, so yes so long as you buy the adapter you can use compatible real instruments
I wonder if Lab Zero’s PS3 controller driver can work on the instruments.
Instruments compatibility is a must for me. I can live without my previous bought DLC (and I can always play RB3 on my PS3), but I don’t have the intention, money or space for a second PRO-Drums
Was Trogdor the burninator here or on guitar hero?
GH2.
funny, its the exact opposite for me. I can buy a new starter bundle no sweat and ditch my old instruments, but rebuying the hundreds of dollars in DLC is way worse
I just don’t want the clutter of having MULTIPLE sets of Rock Band kits. Give the option to buy newer stuff, but don’t be assholes and force me to rebuy that shit all over. Or at least let me cash in my old ones or something for free new ones.
Harmonic stated they are working with Sony and Microsoft to allow legacy hardware to work on the PS4 and XB1. It’s not a guarantee yet, but I kinda feel like they will succeed.
If you don’t export now, you might be SOTL. They are going away SOON.
Export your songs ASAP yo.
if your code doesn’t work, contact EA for one and they’ll give you one.
