You forgot his trusty side-kick, Sif! (I think, by far, my favorite boss fight of that game)
First time I fought Artorias, I insta-raged but, my Monster Hunter skills kicked in and I beat him like a hero.

 We got high level All Stars at SCR and then Tekken Ball after that, for anyone who is interested.
The whole time I fought Artorias I had very mixed emotions.
On the one hand, he’s fighting the Abyss which seems to be the origin of humanity in that world. Gwyn sent Artorias along with Sif to New Londo (then to Oolacile) to fight the growing Abyss. Which means he was seeking to prolong the Age of Fire (the rule of the decrepit, corrupt Gods) and to stop the growth of man.
On the other hand, he sacrificed himself to the Abyss to save his wolf companion, Sif. So he actually possessed a sense of honor and companionship.
This makes fighting Artorias, and especially Sif, extremely tragic and bitter beyond words.
I also had a lot of mixed emotions. There is so much meaning to these fights that is thrown at you without much information. Instead of being spoon fed writing/lore, you have to search for it yourself and when you do, it makes these fights much more in-depth.
As you said about Artorias, when I learned more about him, that made the Sif fight for me.
I felt really bad at the end of the Sif fight, like I had done something horribly wrong. Why… Why did he have to jump at me!!!
Also, fighting Gwyn was probably my second/third favorite fight because when you enter into the room, the music starts to play and its all somber and shit. Then there he was, an old man who was still clinging onto the flame. As easy as he was, the feels in that fight made it for me.
TLDR; Shit man, games deep.
What i loved most was the sense of sheer awe you feel when you first enter the kiln of the first flame. The way they build it up, you feel like you’re walking on holy ground.
Apparently twitch.tv announced an xbox live app that would be released this fall, but it’s still not out yet. Too bad, I was hoping I’d be able to stream SCR onto my tv, instead of my monitor. Oh well.
On the plus side, my girl and I just discovered the NHL channel on xbox live, so now she’s got a way to watch games again. So that’s exciting stuff.
hey guys, I’m back in rochester for one week, let me know if anyone wants to play any games
I can’t wait to see what they do with Dark Souls 2. I believe it can only get better, hopefully.
 Yo, spoilers. Come on, guys.
Don’t none of you act like you’re gonna play this game after I’ve told all of you to play it a billion times!
Also, Yannick: New Fire Emblem soon! Shit looks HOT.
gyrate
 Yeah, that special edition DS is mine. Had to make some travel concessions to get it, but February will be the month of Awakening.
 Please someone tell me they saw that Tekken Ball winners interview. XD

Nope. I’m busy working on socket programming stuff, so I’ve got marvel top 32 on in the background. If I had the tekken ball playing, I would have wanted to watch it and then I wouldn’t get any work done.
Whenever I watch KOF on stream. it makes me realize how much I miss it.
Someway, somehow, I’m gonna bring it back.
Let’s sit down someday and I’ll be your disciple for KOF. If I could choose any game to be instantly awesome at, I’d choose KOF.
Well when Rochester has another event I’m willing to play more KOF. I might actually know how to play 2 characters by the time that happens :nunchuck:.
My wife is mad salty about how I scammed my way into an epic city she built in Carc and therefore into a 4 point win.
EMOTIONAL MANIPULATION: ENGAGE.
Okay, another question about Tag Assaulting.
I’m working on a pretty simple TA combo for christie, just the b+3,3, RLX 2,4+5 combo.
The back 3,3 launches. Sometimes my RLX 2 will whiff, and sometimes the RLX 2 will hit but the 4 followup will whiff. I understand that, I just need to make sure that I input the 2 when the opponent is at the apex of the launch.
But sometimes I’ll land the 4 (and get the visual confirmation of the hit in training mode) but the TA won’t happen, even though I’m pretty sure I’m hitting 5 at the right time. Is there some special quality to a bound move that has to be true in order for the TA to be valid? I know you have to hit the opponent when they’re in midair to bound them; is my opponent somehow landing from the juggle after the 2 hits but before the 4 hits, and so it’s not bounding properly? It looks like they’re still in the air. Am I just not hitting the 5 at the right time? I’ve tried 4+5 and 4~5 and it doesn’t seem to make a huge amount of difference in terms of reliability. I’ve tried to check my inputs in training mode but 5 doesn’t show up on the input history, so that’s no help.
