Twitter may be helpful to share and pass along to any players for posting meets. I’ve wondered if it’d be easier/more user-friendly to move this conversation to Facebook too.

Just in case ya’ll was curious, the big city hasn’t killed me yet; I had to do a bit of driving on saturday for my move and that part was pretty miserable, but now my car is safely stashed at a friend’s place in New Jersey and I won’t touch it for the rest of the summer.

If we’re being charitable, my apartment is cozy; it’s tiny as sin, but i don’t need a lot of space so I’m not sweating it too much. On the other hand, there’s no cable hookup in it yet; I’m reduced to relying on some crappy free wifi service that coats the city and blocks half the internet until time warner cable can be assed to get up here and make me take time off work for them to install an internet hookup. On a related note, Dan, you’re never allowed to defend always-online drm by saying “just get better internet” because that means relying on the cable companies to do work ever, and let me tell you. They can not be relied on.

Work is sweet; I have my own desk, they gave me my own work laptop (which I promptly broke and so they gave me a second one!) and now we’re waiting for the last intern to come in next monday so that the three interns who are there can start working on a research project. Right now I’ve just been doing some research on potential topics that we might work on, and chatting with my co workers, and petting the pomeranian who roams around our office. Shit’s pretty tight. Plus they’re paying for my metro card, so that’s pretty ace as well.

I should be getting good internet by thursday or friday. Hopefully next week I’ll be able to find a meetup and get out there to play some games with all the big city players (excluding flux, who apparently went to ROC as soon as I left or something?)
