I think those are meant to provide options for people who want to have nice and classy looking things in their home, as opposed to arcade cabinets.
Takin’ wife to St. Patricks Day Parade tomorrow.
excited.
You’re talkin’ to the guy with a Mai gif in his sig about ‘classy’ things. . .?
Wasim, I believe that every man can and should be encouraged to better himself.
I’m glad I’m not the one being blamed
I’ll have you know that REAL BOUT Fatal Fury Mai is much CLASSIER and MODEST than slutty KOF Mai!
But you want Classy?
Gets no better than LOBALT.
What is it with fighting game guys getting into speed running these days?
I’m so gonna speedrun DragonBall Z Legend someday.
I find the learning process of a speedrun more fun than fighting games, each stage, trick, and glitch is like it’s own combo haha.
In races or going back and forth with better times, if I lose it’s because of my own errors but I felt like in fighting games, especially at my scrub level, people would win by throwing all this random shit at me, laggy online play frustrated me, and people at tournaments smell really bad.
The speedrunning community is also full of awesome people.
speedruns are cool to watch but i like actually playing people
I’ve actually heard that as well; the speed-running community has a sense of competitiveness but there’s a lot of cooperation and trying to help people get better.
Drunken St. Paddys day shenanigans in downtown.
W00t!
are you one of the people shouting on east? You guys woke me up this morning.
Mhmm, most of the competition comes from races on SRL but when it comes to beating a world record, it takes so much understanding to push a game to it’s limits that it turns into a cooperative effort to make an optimal run happen.
Whether you’re going for a world record/personal best or trying to win a race, it’s not about proving you’re better than someone or the best at something, it’s all about making you and everyone else who plays better at the game and I find that much more appealing.
But the exact same attitude can be applied to fighters and I know a lot of you are like that, I just found it lacking in the FGC as a whole.
What there isn’t though is hype, I will still go to majors just to be a part of that crowd.
Hey guys. New to Rochester (and this website, for that matter, I generally avoid forums) and looking to settle in and play some games. My main game is Guilty Gear, but I’ve dabbled in a few others from time to time. Not very good at any of them, though. Very much out of practice; everyone in Columbus that I got to play with wasn’t that great anyway. Hopefully I’ll get dommed here.
Anyway, I was just wondering if there was a common place or something where you guys chill out and play, or meet people, or anything; moving to a new city with none of your friends makes things a little dull at first.
Welcome to the ROC! Most of our general “in public” meetings are on RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology)'s campus on Wednesdays at around 8:00 pm. Otherwise, it just depends on who opens their house up for games. There is some good information on the first page of this thread regarding meet-ups, what games people are playing, and the like.
Yeah, I read that post, it says you guys generally do games on weekends too, but nothing was written in stone. I was kind of hoping something was going down today, otherwise it’s just going to be me trolling bars trying to find happiness in all of the wrong places.
Oh yeah, and my name is Joel. I’ve just been using Roooster as a name for years now, so I forgot to introduce my real name along with it; most people who knew it knew me. Sorry about that!
Do you play MvC2?
Technically, yes. I’ve enjoyed what I play, but I got started on easy-mode MVC3, so I’m not what you’d call “skilled” in MVC2. My playstyle basically involves using Tron’s projectile assist to do my damage for me after I score a hit.
