Rochester, New York -- "That is a white ass menu..."

I’m going to focus on playing tekken tomorrow with put if someone would like to bring a set-up for marvel, then you’re free to play it. Not sure if I’ll have time for Soul Calibur matches tomorrow, but I’m definitely down to play sometime in the near future<br>

Just played some T5DR, reached Jinpachi without spending any credits, got bodied by him hard.<br><br>Also shoutouts to Mexican online warriors still playing this game.<br>

Fair enough. When is Sinn showing up at your place?

I finally (FINALLY) grabbed a copy of KOF13, and I’ve been trying it out in between doing work. It’s…uh…much stricter on inputs than I’m used to from something like Persona. That’ll take some getting used to, but overall I’m pretty sure it’ll be good for me.<br><br>For some reason I’m incapable of making it all the way through the tutorial; I can’t get the hang of Drive Canceling Kyo’s dp into qcf kick. Is the timing on that very particular, or am I just doing something horribly wrong? It’s telling me to input the second motion while Kyo is doing the first move, but I can’t even imagine how you go from a jumping uppercut to a jumping kick. I’m sure the animation just makes it happen, but I’ve got no clue when I’m supposed to actually try and input the second move.<br>

If it’s the tutorial I’m thinking of, the trick is canceling into the kick before the DP actually leaves the ground. Only way to do that is to take advantage of the fact that the 23 in the 623 for the DP can be used as the 23 for the kick. 623p6k. I’m no kof expert, though, so that may well not be the case.<br>

Input the DP and cleanly but instantly reset inputs and trigger the QCF and HOLD kick. Game’s timing is precise but there’s a system of very generous buffers for canceling, the input is its own unfortunate language.

I was playing Garou the other day and felt pretty comfortable even though I haven’t touched it in a long while. But for some reason doing supers in that game don’t come out at will. I went and double checked my execution in other games like Breakers, Kof2k2 and even checked kof13 but Garou makes me fuck up supers for some odd reason. It looks really odd that I land Jae Hoon’s braked flash kick into a st.D.<br><br>For Kyo’s dp into kick I normally cancel when the dp makes contact with the opponent.<br><br>

Hey guys, I have a choice to make regarding my stick that I’d like some second opinions on. My Fischer price brand stick is on it’s last legs. what do you all think is the better choice?<div><br></div><div>Option A: Buy a stick(such as the 99 dollar xtekken ones on sale now) then buy and get someone to dual modded later to fit my needs</div><div><br></div><div>Option B: Buy a plain dual modded stick(Like an eightarc for example) and pay potentially more for it.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks to anyone who offers input</div>

Most cost effective option would probably go Team Qanba I’d imagine and get the dual mod out of the box. With the Madcatz sticks on sale for $99, you’ll probably spend another $50+ on the dual mod (that’s not including potential labor cost if you get someone to do it for you), roughly the same price of a Qanba.<br><br><b>RIP</b> Fisher Price X Tekken Stick.<br><br>

The price of the regular stick (say 100 dollars) and dual modding (50-?? Dollars) gives you a total of 150 dollars and the time cost of losing your stick for the time its being modded.

The price of an eightarc is somewhere between 150-180 (roughly) with no timecost and dual modded out the gate.

I think dual modding is only worth it when you already own the stick.

Get the qanba. It’s worth it for the utter lack of bullshit involved in having a dual modded stick; you pay about the same price-wise, and the qanba seem to be pretty decent pieces of kit. I’ve had absolutely no problems with mine.<br>

If anybody doesn’t already have tag 2, newegg is running a sale on the ps3 version for 25 bucks right now.<br><br>http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=79-253-090<br>

Don’t get either.<br/>

Sell your stick to some poor schmo.<br/>

Pursue acting and save up enough money to open a restaurant featuring the best asopao this side of the Milky Way.<br/>

Use the profits from your fine eatery to open up your own sleeveless clothing line. <i>Rican Heat</i>.<br/>

Congrats, Pablo. At that point, you’ve made it further than the rest of us.

Goooooood afternoon Rochester.<div>I’m essentially done Monday after 2-4ish with exams. I have a “class” at 6PM Tuesday, and an 8AM presentation in Thursday, and going home Friday night. So I’m trying to find most optimal time for games, especially Marvel. </div><div><br></div><div>So probably tomorrow afternoon/night, Tuesday (maybe 8-9ish), and Thursday night would be the best. </div><div><br></div><div>I can now run two-ish setups, with gaming laptop running AE (Akil, I might need your Steam account because I can’t find the 2012 patch for my “borrowed” version of AE. Also, hell no I am not paying for the same game twice), Marvel on the PS3 (which has been experiencing legit slowdown. It’s probably my console :frowning: ), and Melty Blood (in a 1024x768 resolution screen, no less). </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I wish my roommate didn’t  buy a TV that only had coaxial cable. He says it’s “perfect” because it runs his NES games (his sole purpose of buying the TV), but one day I’ll bring up a normal CRT up.</div><div><br></div><div>Also, should we organize rides to Syracuse for Dust Bowl? I’m most likely driving up to Rochester (I finally have access to a car, thanks to my sister making mad bank at her job and being able to buy her own car. I’m such a moocher), but I’m honestly not very confident driving from Rochester to Syracuse (let alone from anywhere to anywhere). I think my friend from Buffalo (who’s bringing up his own car) can drive people up to Syracuse, but I’ll ask him by next week. </div><div><br></div><div>Also also, who’s staying here in Rochester over the break? I’m going home for a few days and maybe come back Wed of that week. </div><div><br></div><div>Alsoalsoalso, I talk with parenthesis too much. And Batman:The Animated Series is the shiznit.<span class=“Apple-tab-span” style=“white-space:pre”> </span></div>

Oscar, I will be around for Marvel any day of the week, just say the word.

Two more weeks! Excited to see everyone :)<div>Remember guys I need a couple of full set ups for sfxt </div><div><br></div>
