I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS PAIN.
Can’t wait for this. And no matter what others think, I personally love the pre-production suit design.
heres to hoping for dude getting blasted in the office or as good as a death scene for murphy as the original.
Trailer:
Feh.
BOOOOOOO-UUUUUURRRRRNNNNSSSSSSSS!!!
It’s still ass even after all this time… The Robocop property deserves better.
Why didn’t they just leave the color scheme alone?
Why are Michael Keaton and Sam Jackson attached to such a steaming pile?
that will be a nice download. way to try to reboot a franchise and make it unappealing even to those who grew up on robocop. now if robocop was on some sam from vanquish shit wit dat suit tech and crazy gun tech with the main boss being like the russian from vanquish with the two flying suits, then you woulda had me sold, but you didnt do that, sooo eat some bawlz.
Doesnt look that bad. Michael Keaton, Sam Jackson, and Gary Oldman in the same movie!
Hollywood should stop hiring from the exact same community of concept designers.
Lets see

Original

Reboot

To me the old Robocop is old and busted
The new Robo, well tactical black does make more sense. In some situations you don’t want shiny chrome to give your position away.
A Lighter and faster Robo makes sense also as there is no such thing as truly bulletproof armor.
Here is a video of 500 Brinell steel , harden steel similar to whats used in bullet proof armor beeing shot at with a standard NATO 5.56 mm round
In all the past Robocop movies, baddies used armor piercing rounds. Clarance in the first movie didn’t need the Cobra gun, he could count on murphy being a slow ass.
I thought it’s going to be a crossover between burton and nolan batman coz it has old batman and gordon in it. Then the robocop ruined it.
Looks like shit, plus it’s PG-13
Exactly. While the rating wouldn’t make or break the film, judging from that trailer this is gonna be yet another forgettable popcorn muncher summer flick.
The original film, while its violence bounced between Warner Bros. cartoonishness and gritty realism… that bi-polar approach gave the film its own unique feel and style. The script also had substance and told a tale of an America that had become bought and paid for-- Where megacorp OCP was the true governing power in Detroit(sound familiar?) whilst its police force struggled to maintain a facade of order in an increasingly chaotic and depressing world.
I won’t even touch on the dynamic of Murphy/Robocop struggling to maintain his humanity underneath all the steel and circuitry.
This new movie looks as if it won’t have any of the smart dialogue or heart… Yeah, they’ll do the whole ‘soul of the man vs. the machine’ but I bet it doesn’t get more than ten minutes of actual screentime.
I dunno, the setting is clearly dystopic and based on current events. No it won’t be as good as the original but using robots to control a crumbling USA will be pretty unsettling (since that’s a couple years away from reality anyway). But it’s PG-13 so fuck it. Where’s my Dredd sequel.
i think its gonna be ass. the great cast is to make up for an obv shitty movie.
Should have stuck with grey/silver. Hopefully they revert back at the end of movie, the black looks shit in comparison.
Am hating this movie, Robocop was a sci fi master piece, everything about it was flawless. All the sequels were just bastardizations. Even the frank miller comics paled, imagine that, a movie being better than the comic counter part. We thought we saw an end to the slaughter and this reboot is just gonna be another troll attempt at the legend.
Yeah my thoughts exactly it could be a good film, the trailer piqued my interest but it’s a reboot so anyone expecting it to be a satirical comedy like the original is going in with the wrong expectations. It’s just using the blueprint so to speak to explore a different side of what Robocop stands for.
I liked Robocop 2…
