I’d say also avoid The Fisher King. That movie is amazing but holy shit is it dark and depressing.

normally i have zero interest in celeb lives or deaths, but this is up there with michael jackson for me. robin was one of the few comedians who could keep it clean enough so that an entire family could enjoy his talents. most comedians don’t have even near the charisma for that to be possible. i’ve seen films that i figure many people haven’t, like father’s day and jack. it really feels like my siblings and i grew up watching his work.
rip.
Yeah I don’t even like any of his non voice over comedy roles. Always thought he was pretty corny.
But his bad guy villain shit is top tier
Starts flipping tables
Fuck this gay assed earth ugh.
Time to watch Aladdin 989734983738 times again like I did in middle school and such.
Isn’t What Dreams May Come basically a retelling of the Divine Comedy?
But yeah, when he plays the villain…dude is also pretty convincing. That creepy ass vibe…

I agree with you. I enjoyed watching them when I was younger with my parents and sister. His movies was one of the rare ones where everyone can sort of follow no matter the generation. My all time favorite one was Bicentennial Man, which a lot of people consider it to be garbage but for me… it really resonated for me. An outcast trying to fit in and find love in an illogical and emotional world, while trying to make sense of it in a logical robotic way. Only to have to change one’s self in order fit in and even in the end…

When he dies not really knowing if he was truly accepted. But you the viewer kinda hoped he did.
ChrisG is gona be combo breakered at next evo. Then he’ll call for a nerf.
That’s Chris’ opinion. Don’t fret over his opinion.
I like Robin Williams in Bicentennial Man and What Dreams May come. I found him to be an amazing philosopher in real life as well.
Chris G needs to be slapped. I would slap him if he provokes me public. I think I have seen him before in AI or Super.

I’m not. I just got a chuckle out of it.

Have you heard his standup? That shit is not clean at all. LOL. I wouldnt say he intentionally kept his career comedies fairly clean, and movies in general, but it just happened that way, along with im sure a little pressure from his manager, agent, etc… My girl and i were listening to his standup last week while coming home from grocery shopping. Damn shame he went out like this, as robin williams was a normal name dropped around this household when it came to talent and funnies.
We will probably watch some patch adams this weekend. Robin was a G in my childhood (i watched ms doubtfire, hook, and jumanji more times then i can count), and i caught some of his gems later as a became an adult (one hour photo, dead poets, good will hunting), so this is definitely saddening to hear that his depression lead him this far down the road. He just remarried 3 years ago too, to his 3rd wife.
Hell, i might download and watch jumanji right now. fuck it
Haven’t seen any mentions of World’s Greatest Dad, but I liked it. It’s on Netflix if you guys like black comedies.
Robin Williams was one of the most versatile and weirdest actors around, sucks he’s gone even though he was in a lot of shitty film he still gives great performances in them.
Also surprised no one name dropped arguably his best work The Fisher King. From that to Jumanji to Insomnia and beyond, dude had more range than pre nerf Yun divekick.

It’s come up in the previous pages. I didn’t know about it though, looks crazy
He’s not dead, he’s just trapped in a lamp as a genie now, right?
… RIGHT???

I liked Bicentennial man too.
Rolling deep in them feels with that movie.
This is incredibly sad but somehow I’m not surprised it was suicide. He always seemed to have this melancholy undercurrent to him no matter what it was he was doing from his stand up specials to his movies, and I’ve seen a lot of his work. “Sad clown” is probably one of the most apt descriptions of him.
He was tortured like a lot of brilliant people but he always found it in him to make us laugh and I guess when the guy who put his energy into such a thing goes out like he did, it’s extra sad.
RIP mate, you’ll be missed in this world.
