Well, a trio of Sakura, Hinata, and Natsu being the main characters of the book would IMHO be more “fun” than the more-logical (but IMHO less fun) trio of Batsu, Kyosuke, and Hinata doing it, at least. Not exactly sure if that’d be an overall good thing, though, especially seeing as to how by Project Justice Sakura was practically forgotten altogether, heh (one of the many reasons why Taiyo team would be more logical). Then again, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sakura all by herself probably has a bigger fanbase than the entirety of the Rival School series does, which could be a factor to consider for sales…
That cover is looking much better than the art in SF #0. It has much more the look and feel of Rival Schools while still having that trademark REY style. The art in SF#0 looked too much like REYs regular style which just doesn’t work with the established Edayan designs.
Curse you Udon! Curse you! I’m gonna be using more of my bro’s money now! Why? Because I just so need to get 2xA, 2xB and 3XC (that cover just looks brilliant!) Ah well, I have 2 of some PF’s for SF (namely Ryu, Akuma) and 3 of Fei Long (only wanted 2 but my bro got me a 3rd for some strange reason).
Lucky for me my bro can’t say “You buy way too many titles” cause I don’t, so I guess the variant or multiple variant collectin isn’t too bad.
Think Karin will make a cameo appearance? She does go to the same school as Sakura.

I hope karin would be there in a RS3 game. I would love to see how she would look in a 3D format.
RS3 = Project Justice, DC Game…Plus, CAPCOM HASN’T RELEASED ANYTHING RIVAL SCHOOL RELATED since…DC ;_; where are you Capcom…even a rehash of all 3 games in one would be fine by me…

I like the way Rey draws, but Imma pass on Udon stuff, I don’t like 10 pages of comic and 10 pages of ads.

I think Karin would be the only thing they would add into it. So that somehow it connects to the SF World.
I have been reading the street fighter and darkstalker comics and so far they are doing a very good job in staying with the storyline.
In total 20 issues have passed between SF and DS and so far I have not felt to say something like “that shouldn’t happen, or he would never do that”
Un like the movie which had charlie as blanka, deejay as a communicationist, and balrog and e. honda as a camera man.
Give UDON a chance. They have done great with art and storywriting and I am sure they will do just as well with rival schools.
Stories go like this…
Ryu walks somewhere, thinks about akuma/gouken, Flashes to shadowloo scheming/cammy junk, then at the end a new character appears SURPRISE ! ( maybe, most of the time not )
Guile and Chun Li are probably in the issue talking about how much they hate Bison in a couple panels too.
Then there’s like 8 ads in the back. Add the cheap shots, the usual backup story and main comic story is way way short.
I don’t want to get into a big arguement or something, I do buy the comics when they come out ( keyword WHEN ), and I like the art. But the stories could be better. They skipped street fighter 1, Alpha 1/2/3, and went right to Street Fighter 2.
Well street fighter 1 has been recognized throguh remembering sections at the end of the comic and as for the alpha series it will continue throught the street fighter 2 comic.
But if that’s how you feel then that’s ok.
UDON are you going to have special character cover foils like what you did with street fighter and darkstalkers?
Can’t wait for the RS version of “cheap shots” and sidestories/backstories as well.
