Completely understandable. I really hate having to compete for people with STL too (hell they even had the date first) but this venue is too nice to pass up, especially since the rooms are being donated to us and the only two dates available were the weekends after SB4 and after Arial Rave and not even I’d go to a Des Moines tourney after SB4.
Sorry but I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it when it came out and no one volunteered to bring it until AxioM was kind enough to bring two!
That’s weird that it won’t have a “Home” button on it, might have some issues getting your stick to the correct controller assignment but I think just turning the PS3 off then on with it plugged in will be fine. Actually just going to the menu then going back into versus mode and hitting start with it should be fine too.

I’ve got a DragonPlus adaptor - it might be the same kind that you have. It works well as far as lag goes, but it doesn’t work with as many sticks as the Pelican or InPin. On mine, you need to hit the PS2 Analog button (the one the switches on or off the Analog function). So if you’re like me and have sticks that are made for PS1, bring a PS2 pad so you can hit the Analog button to synch, then swap out to your stick.
I’m sure I can hold up. Iowa game obviously is not near as important and it’s a day game, so i’ll be watching at all play anyway.
I’ll start signups at noon and prolly try to start things by 1:30ish or so, i’m sure i can hold off at least gear and BB for you, i don’t think they will be overloaded with entries by any stretch.

Clay and I are thinking of making the trip. If someone can house us, we are going to seriously consider it. And remember, I can’t stay with you if you have pets

Oh just whenever you want, we will need to do setups first and we can base what’s available after that, it’ll be a big round table but once everything’s set up we can see where we can put you, so noon to 1ish, even later if you want if you’re not entering tourneys (though you should enter HDR…)

Eep, didnt realize this was almost an 8 hour drive. Dubuque is only like 4 for me. I will definitely sit this one out.

Tried out the stick with the adapter at Alex’s place. Here’s the item in question. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NPSAJU Adapter works just fine with a pad to set it up, but I’ve run into a different problem, my stick doesn’t work with adapters. This has happened before on my computer, the new adapter and one I picked up a while ago from Radio Shack work fine with a pad, but they won’t recognize the inputs on my stick most of the time. Whenever I throw out a command like QCF for a fireball, all I get is a regular punch. Only once in a rare while, the fireball comes out. I was hoping this was just a problem where the stick wouldn’t work with the computer for some reason and would work fine with a PS3, the stick itself is the issue since a PS2 pad works great with the adapter, could be wiring in the stick or something. Not totally screwed since Alex will let me borrow one of his for SF4.
Might just the pcb in it. I have trouble with adapters with my stick that hasa psx digital pcb. My other one that has a dual shock 1 pcb in it works perfectly.

…how many ARE coming from MN? Dubuque has 5 (counting Murphy), central Iowa has…uh…a lot? Omaha’s got a decent amount coming as well thanks to Smash. I still wouldn’t doubt MN will be half the people, though. You guys are like awesome 401K plans, you match us dollar for dollar.
