RIP Spectacular Spider-Man 2008-2010

It sucks, but that kind of thing is necessary for storyline…another thing for writers to play with for awhile. That scene was still somewhat believable though, as Gwen’s actions are still subtle…unlike your average 80s movie/show where the girl is so obvious…and you have a main character that comes off as stupid for not noticing the situation.

The arrival of Mary Jane should force Gwen to step up her game…eventually becoming more bold with her strategy and tactics. This is interesting to me…she’s still shy and a bit too scared to really put herself out there. She can only afford to be that way because there is no real competition at the moment. Parker has it made with 2 really good options here, one of which just hasn’t shown up yet. …and once again, I find myself to be jealous of animated characters. There will be no broads competing for me, unless I use money to orchestrate that scenario…but of course that’s another “oh my god you’re so emoooooo” rant and topic for another time.

Who are the bitches responsible for Legion’s cancellation? They should be bound to a wooden post and pelted with shit from various diseased animals.

Really, were the ratings just not good? Sometimes I forget to consider the fact that little kids have amazingly bad taste…and unfortunately…they make up the bulk of the Saturday morning audience…so perhaps it’s their fault? I don’t know, it just makes me want to burn and kill things.

On a random note, what do you guys think of Eon Kid? I sorta like it. The dubbing is a shame, since the show uses 3D models it’s super obvious that the show is dubbed. But I like the robot character designs, and the fights are good.

Talk about shitty intro songs, though…

I don’t watch anything outside of Legion and Spider-Man now. I caught a few minutes of Skunk Fu a few weeks ago, and it was so terrible.

Eon Kid wreaks of Cubix

Million: I’d mark it down for three broads possibly on the Parker tip. Liz (anyone else surprised she is a latina?) has shown interest but seems more committed to staying on the popular side of the kids. I could see that change down the way and Peter seems interested but eventually the Gwen and MJ thing will over take Liz.

TS: Eon Kid is a dope show. It has some lame characters that appear to waste time, when there should be violence and the dubbing isn’t great, it is servicable. The show has some nice action, the main character rips fighting game moves each episode and the main plot while not original is well told in more than a couple places.

A lot better than I was expecting since some of the characters look like Mega man clones and rejects, but it surprisingly marital arts heavy. It isn’t Avatar: The Last Airbender good but it is a solid second as far as non anime adventure cartoons go in my opinion.

That show sucks cuz of 2 things: Marty and Buttons. And one more: I fuckin’ hate shows where chubby preteens are super-powerful.

I enjoy the “megaman-ish” look of the characters there, and the fights/action are great. Eon Kid was another reason Saturday morning recently became good again. I’d like to see an action game based from this show…but unfortunately all Eon Kid games would likely be some half-assed garbage released only for the DS since the suits would assume only 8 year olds watch it. Games based on things aimed at little kids are usually trash that no one with any kind of taste would want to waste time on. It’s why I gave up hope a long time ago about there being a truly good Power Rangers game based off recent seasons.

I really hope that MJ isn’t white. They’ve been soo good with all this interracial stuff that seeing MJ as something other than a redhead would be a total shock. Maybe an indian red head? Asian perhaps?

I watched the first 4 episodes of spectacular spider-man.

It’s okay in my books. Aimed more towards a younger audience then the 90’s Spider-man. Looks like they’re keeping it more down to earthl then the 90s version. Also enjoying the Peter Parker side of things in the spectacular spider-man version.

I really hate how Spidey never threw a punch in the 90s version. All he did was try to web up the bad guy… and the bad guy would just break out of the webs.

I really enjoyed the MTV Spider-man series. Music was pretty neat and I really liked the cel-shaded-like animation.

Still though, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited are better by a mile.

I’m really liking the new show a lot. Even though they are going through the villains quickly, the writers are setting up something pretty big with the Kingpin. And like other people have said, since he’s not actually killing off the villains, they can always come back. I do like how Spidey is oblivious with the “bigger picture.” It’s also nice to see Spidey as a smart kid rather than a super genious like the 90’s cartoons.

On a side note: Why are there TWO Superman’s in LoS? I don’t watch the series, but that’s really weird.

:u: One of the Supermans is actually Superman X, who’s a clone of Superman from the 41st century. He’s basically there because Imperiex wrecked his time, and he needed the Legion for help. The real Superman is there because the Legion members sucked and needed more help.

Don’t know why they didn’t use Mon-El but Supes-X turned out to be a cool character.

Don’t know why they didn’t use Mon-El but I guess it is because they wanted to do some different stuff that wouldn’t fit the character. Like how they were tempted to use Hawkman as the badguy for the Justice League: Starcrossed movie but decided to just make someone up. I am guessing that had there been another season we might have seen Superman X get killed off or turn evil at some point. Hell there is still room for the former to happen next episode.

And I do agree he is a cool character, I wish they’d had longer to develop him more. I’d love to have seen an big fight between Superman and X, since X is immune to kryptonite.

Yeah, it really just feels like wasted potential at this point. They took a ton of liberties with Imperiex too.

So I just looked up this Mon-El guy, and dude has one of the most convoluted origins I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty glad they didn’t use his Daxamite ass.

So I just youtubed the new Spidey theme, and I have to say it really doesn’t seem that bad to me. Maybe it’s cuz I was expecting a lot worse after reading pages of ‘THIS IS TERRIBLE’ but yeah. ._____.

It’s obviously not a crazy 90’s cartoon theme, but it’s not exactly the 90’s anymore. It seems like a decent enough theme to me, kinda catchy. The original The Batman theme was pretty good too IIRC.

The Spectacular Spidey opening song has grown on me. I’m humming it and singing the lyrics in my head.

Anyone that thinks the '90s Spidey Toon is better needs to take the nostalgia stick out of their anus. Reused animation and stiff character movement really hurt that show. I didn’t realize it at the time but man, did it hurt that show.

Spec Spidey has fluid animation and get this: Spidey can fight!! No more constantly getting thrown or just webbing up the bad guys. Years from now, I believe this will be THE Spider-Man cartoon.

Yeah, but you can’t deny the 90’s Spiderman opening theme song was the shit. In fact, a lot of openings of that time were awesome.

Isn’t Electro == basically Shocker? or are they separate villains?

What company makes this show?

I ask because the 90s spidey cartoon never got proper DVD releases (like, say, The Batman or Justice League). TV sucks… but TV on DVD is hotness, and what y’all are saying about this show has me intrigued.
