I got to see STP in El Paso in 2008. Great show. Dude was so full of energy. They are one of my favorite bands from the 90s, it’s a shame he had to go out like that. RIP

STP is by far my favorite band of the 90s. Sad stuff. Completely expected, though. When he was doing interviews to promote his book, you could tell he was either still heavily using or so neurologically ruined from addiction that there was no going back.
STP is one of the many reasons I champion 90’s alternative as arguably my favorite genre.

Goddammit. Why do musicians have to do drugs? So so so many were lost to them that it’s impossible to list. I haven’t kept up with Weiland ever since Velvet Revolver became a thing. After their 3rd album I didn’t like the direction they were taking, and VR didn’t seem much better. This is all an aside though. Sucks that he’s gone. I loved STPs first 2 albums. I just wish he could’ve kicked the habit. People don’t appreciate how fragile life is.
