Anyone have a camera tripod I can borrow for the RiCo Tourney aka Albizzle’s Tourney aka SCR?
I have a tripod. I’ll see if I can use it on Saturday, but I don’t think it would be a problem.
I got CFE today, guys. Chun seems better than I thought she would be. It’s tough to reliably combo into her kick super on crouching characters, but you can get in their face and do close roundhouse xx fierce fireball, then kick super if you see it hit. And her HCB+K overhead seems faster now!!
Also, Guy and Karin seem really good. Guy can link low jab to standing strong, then chain to standing fierce xx QCF+Forward, forward slide, which connects on even small crouching characters. You can also cancel into his kick super for decent damage. Karin is hella broken!! Her normals are all too good, and her B&B does a lot of damage. Karin’s crouching strong is crazy-fast for some reason, too. It links into itself, or standing short xx rekkas, etc.
hey matt, is karin that good? I got owned by sakura with repeated s.hk, crossup fk, activate shoshosho. Her a3 v combo doesn’t work i think, cuz its like a groove. I hate cfe.
Karin’s standing fierce hits behind her, so use it against Sakura’s crossup forward. As for Sak’s standing roundhouse, stay outside of her range and use crouching roundhouse with Karin when Sakura sticks her leg out. You should beat it out pretty clean. You can also use Karin’s high counter (QCB+P) to catch Sakura’s standing roundhouse if they’re getting predictable.
Sakura’s custom in CFE does decent damage if it hits, but it doesn’t if it’s blocked. Just use either of Karin’s alpha counters (P or K) against the custom. The motion for alpha counters is the same as Alpha 2, or GGXX Baiken (from back to down, then any punch or kick).
Karin’s custom in CFE is just: activate, low forward (the low forward is not necessary sometimes), standing roundhouse x n, then sweep xx QCFx2+K. You can also bust a reset like A-Ken in CVS2 by inserting a Forward+Forward (MK) overhead, then continuing with the standing roundhouses.

Easy as shitfuck custom with RH x N , DP with KICK QCFx2 K.
i do DP K instead of sweep only because it gives you more time for super.
she has MEATY cross-up with jumping forward, and from there (dependent on where you are on screen) you can do crouching short jab standing short xx rekka or you can go for link.
crouching short/jab links into low strong/low fierce and both can XX rekka.
lot of options with rekka too.
rekka, press any punch, and press short immediately after and she does DP with k move. that allows for another free standing fierce, which doesnt knock down, just floats them, so you can either walk up throw or go for low short…
rekka xx punch button xx punch button sucks… doesnt combo
rekka xx punch button xx down with any kick- does slide, which doesnt combo either, and isnt reliable for a mixup since most people are blocking low anyway.
yea… too bad Alpha chars build meter slow as FUCK.
start with a ST char… then have Alpha second.

Couple of quick things before tourney on Saturday:
- How many TV’s do we have?
- Should we go with 1 or 2 GGXX#R setups?
- Shit, this reminds me; whoever is in charge of making brackets/doing signups, get their location as well (i.e. Vegas, LA, Diego, whatever) so whoever makes the brackets can seed according to LOCATION. It would suck for people to drive for a couple of hours just to find out they’re playing against people they normally play from their area in the first round. Or hell, I’ll do it myself if you guys let me…
- Is it still $10 per tourney?
- What time will you guys start setting up shit?
