Looks like I gotta grow a new crop of gamers. Played with a guy perry from the Richmond Play N Trade tourney. Has a TE stick and a love of Random Balrog headbutts.
Uh…that Perry wouldn’t happen to have been a very tall, skinny, short hair, punk/hipster looking kid would he? with an Anarchy tattoo on his arm, the bridge of the letter “A” being an AK-47? Maybe??? No???

Process of elimination ftw!!! One of my good friends. He use to play Blanka but made the move to Balrog about a month or two ago. Was there a good turn out at the tourney? Did you peace him out with Gief or Rose?! How did you do?! Details my good man, details!!!
I do not play those games for these reasons. Its not that I suck or anything. I will play for fun. And I know the fundamentals well for GG and MVC2 mainly.

You can actually win by keeping ya opponent in block stun by the infinite block strings which goes back to reason number 1.

The tourney wasn’t in SFIV. It was SSF2 for SNES on a HDTV. Played like molasses. Only 6 people. I won though. We played a lot in casuals after that. He can beat my terrible characters with Balrog, but when I used Gief/Rose/Ryu I was like 20-2. He’s got some learning to do, and just needs to play safer and use normals more.

MvC2’s infinite’s aren’t true infinites for a number of reasons. One is the max hit flipout at ~50 hits and two is that you have 3 characters. In a game where 90% DHC combos are really easy and plentiful, actually doing “infinites” is crazy impractical. Magneto gets his damage from resets, not infinites, and Iron Man kinda sucks.

There are no infinite block strings. There is push block (which allows you to jump out) and Counter tag xx Super. Closest thing to it is Spiral/Sabre tooth, and no one picks that. Spiral/Sent is good, but there are holes.

Don’t like Sent? Better learn Magneto or learn to lose a lot. If anything this game has proven over the years is how dominating Storm/Sent is.

Looking back i realize how fucking stupid that was, but that’s just it. If you want to get better at something you have to play the game for what it is, and not what you think it should be.
