SSF4 at Cary St Cafe
Anybody who lives in the Richmond/VCU area- Cary St Cafe (Live Music - Box Lunches - Cary Street Caf - Richmond, Virginia) hosts 360 SSF4 every Thursday night from 9:00-10:30. One 360 attached to a big projector, making for a big show. Bring your own sticks/pads if you like but usually there’s at least one MadCatz TE stick and one SE stick. I know an hour and a half isn’t a lot of time but they usually play Rock Band right afterwards. If more people show up then we may get to start playing at 8 or so.

It’s been going on since SSF4 launched. I can see how you’d miss it, there’s only a sign for Rock Band. You wouldn’t know about the SF stuff unless you came early enough. If anyone is interested, come by this Thursday around 8:00-8:30 and ask for Dave (me) or Danny.
I can only say this. VCU Fight club wants to be apart of this. You get us more than a few hours, we can definitely bring more heads there.
Here’s the thing: it’s a bar/restaurant that’s hosting it, and they’re only gonna do it if it increases business. So in order for them to let us start throwing down starting at like 6 or 7, there’s gotta be the demand for it, and to them demand = people buying food and drinks. But, when PBR is $2 a pint, I don’t think that’s a problem. If you guys spread the word and have some guys make an appearance this Thursday night we will go from there.

No, I don’t work there, I’m friends with the guy who usually runs things (who doesn’t work there either). Honestly so far it’s been him, me, and this guy Leo who may or may not be on the forums. We’ve had a couple new faces show up in the last couple weeks but nobody I’d consider ‘regulars’ at this point. I’d say we’ve got a standing roster of 5-6 players every week with about 3 serious players.
This is not an arcade setup like Strange Matter. It’s a cozy bar (if you’re familiar with CSC then you’d know) that has a stage with a projector setup. We put the two sticks on a bar table to simulate a stand-up arcade cabinet, and that’s it. If you want to play, you should come out, simple as that.
