IF she has to work, it shouldn’t be past 4, so if we all plan to leave around 5 or 530 I’d be able to catch a ride. Things usually start around 3, but they go all damn night.

I might get one of their black hoodies:angel:

Sorry about leaving you hanging Tornado Flame. I was in a lobby with a Honda and I wanted one more match.

Hey Games tonight? I get off at 5. Call me if your up for it. 878-3274. By the way Blakula said ranbat starts at 6 so imma leave at 3. But I can give u directions Gamma if you can’t go w/ us

Well I might be down for sometime after 5. I have to work on most of the the day photoshopping images for my presentation. So I could be done at 5 or I can be done at 10 depending on how much I get from my dead beat team members that don’t do shit.

Did anybody see american psycho last night? What so funny bout that shit was that at the end of the movie he ummm…didnt get arrested. WTH?His ass was skied up like a bitch when he was talkin to that lawyer in restuarant.

I may come out tonight but I won’t be off work till after 7. I’ll call you Billy and see if stuff is still going down.

I’m pretty sure the end of the movie you realize that it was all in his head. The images he drew in his book were as real as they were going to be. The last few moments with him having a shoot out with the police and the ATM machine saying “Please insert stray cat” along with the book of doodles were the key points that showed the viewer it was in his head. Also, with the empty apartment he walked into at the end that he thought belonged to that one guy jared leto played and where he had been storing the bodies of his supposed “victims”. The movie was of the mundane business man and how such trivial things as appearance, status, and material wealth can corrupt a person.

If you saw it on cable television, you are definitely missing out. The theatrical version is way better.

I might be down for games around 7ish as well.

I’m pretty sure it was all in his head too. But to me the movie is actually a commentary on the socio-economic climate of 1980’s New York. Everyone is so goddamned fake that Bale just has a hard time accepting anything as reality and hallucinates/fantasizes all these things to keep him from going insane, which ironically, drives him insane.

Everyone always talks about the scenes where he’s talking about Huey Lewis and/or Phil Collins whilst cleaving people’s heads in as if it were mad hilarious. But in reality these scenes just illustrate my point that he can’t stand the fakeness of it all. Myself being an 80’s music expert have no problems saying that while those albums are good, they’re also the absolute epitome of soulless pop music, and it would be almost impossible to describe them as anything but. If you listen to what Bale is saying in those scenes, I’m pretty sure that those aren’t his opinions of those albums, but rather some review that he read somewhere and is simply quoting verbatim.

The move title American Psycho is in and of itself ironic as the film attempts to portray Bale’s character as the typical everyman, simply working for a living and attempting to cope with reality, after all isn’t that what we all do? His “psychosis” however is derived from the fact that he lives in a world of yuppie one-upsmanship which is 100% style and 0% substance. People don’t know each other’s names, you’re success is measured by who you’re friends with, where you eat and what shade of off-white your business cards are, surely this can’t be real can it? Bale attempts to adjust to this world of douchebaggery but it’s all he can muster just to put forth the mental effort it takes to do so without snapping. The only thing he has left to turn to to unleash his hatred for this fakeness is a world of seedy sex and violent fantasies, often combining the two, this becomes his escape, and as he delves deeper into it, the line between reality and fantasy becomes completely blurred. He becomes constantly immersed in his fantasy world, or the “real world” which could not possibly be farther away from reality. Bale becomes the proverbial “Alice in the rabbit hole” falling through and endless vortex of confusion, grasping at anything that may resemble reality. This movie attempts to draw parallel’s between Bale’s character and the viewer by suggesting at that part of our daily lives whereupon we witness something (or more likely someone’s behavior) and we think “there’s no way that just happened” or “how could anyone possibly be that stupid/full of themselves/etc.” We all have moments where we just want to walk up to the nearest person and skewer them with a 4 foot broadsword because reality is just that retarded. But most people simply turn to some escape mechanism to get away from it (drugs, gaming, alcohol, porn, etc.) and never devolve to the level of true mental disease. In this way the movie suggest that being an “American Psycho” is a causational relationship; the cause being the fakeness that permeates our everyday lives, and the effect being a psychosis manifested as escapism. When watching this film, you’re supposed to (at least subconsciously) draw a parallel between yourself and Bale as if to suggest, you the viewer are either “no different from” or simply “one step away” from him. The problem however is that this film was made by a bunch of 45 year old metropolitan erudite hipsters whose motif of the upper-class business world of New York City 25 years ago really only manages to speak to them and their ilk, and not the everyman actually watching it.

3 stars out of 5.

PS. I’m really bored at work right now.

anyone who sees this now or calls me i’m home now and playing crack addict 4. call me or just come to my place 1215 hermitage rd. Yall don’t want any of this. We can order some food too.

Shew. That’s a lot. But I can see your point. But, I’ve also talked to a ton of people who have stranger opinions about this movie. I think as with all these types of films/art in general is that we draw our own conclusions from the different metaphors used while retaining the overall message given by the author.

By the way, if you have other opinions about shit like this I love talking about it.

Games/Asserting our opinions sometime?

I have had some awful conversations with people who just will not try to understand your opion and, more closely related to this website, differnent fighting games. Like with the emergence of sf4 and the flock of scrubs I’ve heard people talking about 3s Urien being broken and better than Gill.

You shoulda come to Billy’s then. :arazz:

I’d play SF with you, but it’s gotta be at night, cause that’s when I don’t work.
